OK, I do not agree with you, but I was gonna give you the benefit of a doubt. But when you start quoting your own quotes and commenting on them I realise that no matter what I say it will never do any good, as clearly you only listen to your self.

Actually I am always swayed by good argument. The quotes are for context, as there may be several different posts in between. I really couldn't care less whether you agree with me or not. I am not trying to convert you. If you believe this guy was some sort of folk hero then you become part of the problem.
I follow the 50/50/90 rule.

Well I guess he has a 1000 reasons now to help him review that decision.
He and others like him are the reason this wont work.

I got let off for speeding, no L plate, going over 70, riding and riding after 10pm at the same time.
Good thing I wasn't over the alcohol limit too...
I disagree with you. Putting back the responsibility on to the individual will actually make it work. Did you know that NZ is one of the most legislated countries in the world re almost anything? We have gone so far here that the individual is not responsible for anything. Example is when someone misstreats their child it suddenly is CYF's fault as they should have known about it. ACC is another example. Yes, you will always have people who will take the opportunity to not comply. But it is a little like trying to stop drinkdrivers by lowering the allowed bloodalcohol level allowed. Will have no effect on the ones who drink and drive. Only ones it will hit are the ones who have a beer or two at dinner and who are responsible.
But I sense that we have to agree to disagree here.
No I actually agree with you in that it is how it should work. I travel fairly extensively and regularly and the road rules and general driving requirements are similar all over the world. However driving attitudes are much different and the training far better. The USA has 4 way stops (basically a cross intersection each with a stop sign)...the first to arrive goes first then the second etc. They also have a free right turn at a red light. Both work very well with the drivers being conservative and considerate. It will take a generation or two before we get to that level of maturity.

Hey Dawn. I have a client for you.
Givvus a note to dpex@xtra. Then I'll give you his details.
This dude hasn't ridden for 40 years, but just bought a 2006 YZF, and is having just a touch of trouble dealing with it.
I recommended you and RRRS. He seems pretty keen on both solutions. :--))
