    Went to Te Papa

Got pics of this... Really really cool

One can only imagine the bike capabilities now if he hadn't been taken away all too soon.

On a sidenote, not sure if I like the display position that Te Papa have placed the bike in.

ah yes, the manliest pink and purple bike, with an exhaust that looks like an octopus copulating with a v-twin.

    Ummm,
You may well find that is the stance the bike took when Mr Stroud was exiting Dunlop on Manfeild.....

Indeed. Mr B was pissing over the world's best at that stage - I would have loved to have seen what he would have been up to now.

He wasn't even close to doing that

Yep, amazing creation that it was, comparing the Britten to the Ducati's etc that it was beating is like comparing a MotoGP bike to a Superbike......and to make matters worse the MotoGP bike has a capacity advantage, even over the other twins. Still an amazing effort though from a very small underfunded team.

Speak to a bloke regularly who used to ride one

Luckly bugger, what would I give to have a squirt on a Britten! Our very own Mr Harris.

That's right, however, let's put it all in perspective.

No one else in the world at that time had assembled a more dedicated group of enthusiasts THAT ACTUALLY ACHIEVED SOMETHING.

It may not have been kicking as much arse as some of us want to remember, but people all over the world still know what the bike was, and the fact it came from Christchurch New Zealand.

I guess you will be trying to buy one to steal the engine and put in an a "GO CART" or sidechair or someshitlikethat.

First impressions when I was asked to help push it onto the stage area at the NZ tent in 2000 at the Dorkland viaduct, was what to grab and shit it's light and balanced. At the time to get up close to the beast, when the roped area was 5 mts from the bike was awseome.
Hello officer put it on my tab
