No you did not. You said that his statement was 'bullshit' and that 'you', implying F5Dave, as it was his post your quoting and referring to as bullshit, could do it for less than 'five bucks'.

So this isn't correct, and the bullshit was actually posted by you?

OK so rock on up to a painters & ask for a $200 paintjob & paint. He'll respond with why do you kunts think I work for peanuts? Or think that I can't buy beer myself & it is somehow worth more than the $20 a dozen in the super?

. . . Unless you are offering to work for close to ziltch. Is that what your work is worth?

On a Triumph I'd want an 'as new' or better job.

Peel the decals off, that's a laugh. How many bikes have you sprayed that you can peel the decals off?

Just off to the mechanics to offer him $40 (to buy some new rings) & a 6 pack so he can do a rebuild on the van -'cause it's so easy it isn't funny.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.

Well as the old saying goes you get what you pay for,

I'd much rather pay alot more for a job that looks alot better.

(And then cry when it gets scratched)

Any car painter with a good booth and a clean factory will do a good job on a topcoat. It's not exactly hard. If you do the prep yourself (which again, for a over the top respray is not hard either) then you're going to get a good job. The difference between a good job and a bad job is 90% in the prep (which for an over the top respray is as easy as it gets) 9% in a run-free/dust-free finish (which isn't hard to achieve with a little practise and can even be done in a garage with some cheap gear) and 1% getting the right paint (which is as easy as buying a good quality two-pot paint Fortec from a supplier like Versatile Products in Hamilton). Why are you guys so against encouraging someone who wants a particular colour on his new bike but cant find one respraying an identical bike?

I'm not... I'm against you talking bullshit, all the while saying that a good cunt like F5Dave is talking bullshit.

/edit: And I'm happy to retract that statement if you can tell him how he can prep his fairings, to a standard that would be acceptable for painting, on a near new 675, for 'five bucks'. Knock yourself out.

On my way home today I spied a metallic deep grey one parked up in Halswell. It looked bloody good.
