    My CRF is dead

It was such a choice day yesterday so i couldn't resist going for a ride after work.

Was ridding down the riverbank, I have made a cool little training track down there. Was buzzing around it for half an hour or so. On my way back home was popping some wheelies as you do, popped up a 4th gear wheelie, then unexpectedly my motor just died and it locked up. After a Quick inspection it was pretty obvious what damage was done. Somehow managed to blow the starter right out of the motor blew the casings apart leaving bits of metal everywhere. Shes fucked.

It its rather guttering as it has only done 6hrrs on the top end rebuild.

I cant work out how and why it happened and before anyone says it had plenty of oil, so that was not the cause...

RIP my crf you did me well

Yea possibly Ill look into it tho it might still cost more than its worth. The only thing i can think of that could have caused it to happen might of been oil starvation from to much time on the back wheel... hmm

i know of a complete, reasonably fresh 450 engine sitting under a bench. in nz, not sure if it will fit into the 250 frame though.

That could be an idea, slap a 450 in there might take some custom work but could be worth a go.

Not sure yet, that was just what i could see. I haven't pulled the motor out to execute any further investigations yet, but id imagine its pretty fucked but everything else on the bike is sweet.

Strange is this an X model?

I would have thought a bike could handle a few mins on its back wheel easily
Be interesting to see why and how much its gonna cost to fix
Even on the old ones if you dont race serious and you wanna just go do the odd club day and smoke everyone on a big old 5hundy it great and if you get beaten you have a handful of excuses
