Things I learnt from my ride today

We decided to do the run to Hamilhole this morning, despite the wet stuff falling from the sky. What I learnt was:
    1. My leathers do keep me warm and dry despite steady rain and wash from oncoming truck tyres

    2. There are some lovely drivers around who move over for you without having to "harrass" them into doing it.

    3. My new tyres (Pilot Road 2s) give a very secure ride even with lots of water on the road and having to brake heavily to avoid the ute driver who decided he wanted to move from the lane on my left immediately cutting me off 'cos he wanted to get to the lane on my right so he could get onto the motorway.

    4. Learnt not to let myself freak out by a wild imagination when I was sure I could feel an enormous bug crawling around inside my helmet behind my ear. (There was no evidence of any such bug when I removed my helmet on arriving at my destination).

Oh, and 5. I much prefer to ride with my pants done up.

Yay. It was another nice day to be out!
I lahk to moove eet moove eet...

The bug entered your brain via your ear canal.
Unfortunately their is no safe retrieval method, so you are destined to be a motorcyclist for the rest of your life.
May the riding gods have mercy on your soul.

I'm still getting over the surprise that my brother associated my "gag pressies" with such a deviant train of thought! (especially concerning sweet lil moi!)

Plus I don't how on earth you pervs managed to get those pix of me....I thought it was a secret!!!!

note to self: make sure curtains are closed properly before "settling down for the night"

Good news about the tyres (you needed that boost).

Sounds like you have come through the perfect test unscathed. Well done.

Pants done up is always best (at least when riding a motocycle)

Now about that lost bug. Have you ever seen the film "The Fly"?

Check early warning signs that you are sprouting wings!

I can only think that you get soooo excited that your going for a ride that you forget to do up your pants?

as for bugs in your head etc, they better to have than hearing voices?

Great you had a good time.
Pilot Road 2's rock... an awesome good all around tyre.
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

A single droplet of water can cause that feeling ... or a very small bug ...

In my case, it is always sweat that causes that feeling.

I no longer pull over, remove helmet rapidly, and rub fingers through remaining strands of hair

From my ride yesterday, I learned I'm starting to enjoy riding less and less, and my riding is getting worse.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
