And still on the first tank on my poocati that ive owned for about 3 months

some people use their bike for more than just posing.

the 'busa usually ran out to around 800km a week just on commute and run around duties (commute of 120km round trip). often out to 12-1300kms if i went to whiti for the weekend. at $3/day fixed costs, plus $1.50/litre of fuel for tyres (front and rear), plus fuel/chain etc i easily spent over $400/week/every week.

So hard to believe? I do 300km a week just in commuting alone. Some rides after work and a weekend free could see that go well into the 1500s.

But I'm a cheap-arse and use 91 petrol :D

really interesting data but I have problem with averages. You see they are exactly that averages. If you have 3 bikes and I have only 1 then we have average 2 bikes each. But It still doesn't mean I get to ride 2 bikes....

That's horrendous. That's what my 2.4L 1500kg Accord wagon gets around town and I sure don't baby it...

On the other hand my GSX250F gets about 10km/L around town which is far from stunning, but I think theres actually something broken there given that it won't idle either.

Toto - Are you collecting that info from credit card statements or from saved receipts? I used to save receipts and then drag them out every month or 2 to stick in a spreadsheet but that got tedious. Now I have a notebook and pen in the bike and car that gets the date, current odo reading, #liters put in the tank (always a fill) and fuel used/price. At the other end I also have a log of any times I've checked/altered the tire pressure, oil, coolant, brake fluid, trans fluid, wiper fluid etc. which has so far proved incredibly useful. I'd highly recommend for everyone to try get in the habit of this. It is also a good place to note down oil/filter/brake pad/tire changes as well as what oil/filter was used, tire pressure should be etc. so you don't forget.

I've just been doing a budget calculations and have calculated that my petrol spending for the month of August alone was $403.58

This is all bike petrol. Anyone else doing monthly or weekly petrol calculations ?

Didn't say I did anything with the info In terms of tire air pressure I just note the date and that I checked it, nothing more.

Looking at the numbers the same as MacD did, it appears that you're gettin good fuel economy, just travelling a heap. I was paying about $50 a week to keep my car gassed up when I was driving it, now paying about $10 a week to run the bike instead, but that is just inner city commuting.
