Just get a handheld pressure gauge from repco and a foot pump. Sorted.

All the ones I use in Wellington seem to be just fine.. but I have my own foot pump at home for the reason nosebleed stated.

I was waiting at the Mobil in Parnell once to use the air, there was a chick in a convertible Audi fucking around with the hose, walking up and down and getting all...like.....stressed and stuff....

    Getting the picture now....

Anyway, I'm sitting there being very patient. Finally got off the bike and walked over to see if I could assist but she shooed me away like a fucking rabid cat.

So, eventually she gets all ....whatever-like-and-stuff and thows a really girlie strop, chucks the hose on the ground, jumsp into the car and goes to drive off. As she does she pulls up alongside me and says:

"oh, take care of that for me, I'm..like..in a real hurry and stuff....." and then she fucks off.

Now there is one genre of cager I feel would be guilty of fucking up the iar hoses...

Oh - hadn't thought of that.

Would I need to get the wheels rebalanced?

Buy a pump and a guage. Those gas station air pumps are usually quite inaccurate. I've seen even one of those digital - enter your pressure - type ones out by 4psi and some analogue ones out by up to 6!

People crash into things at petrol stations way too much. A bicycle pump with a gauge in it from a cycle shop will save you time at the station and so reduce your chances of being there when someone slams their SUV into the big LPG tank.

I have a 12 volt air compressor and a decent gauge. Saves on leg wear.

    Yep bought one.

There's a guy on Trademe selling them for $125 including all the valves.

    Problem solved.

It's not cheap to buy a decent quality pump. I bought a bike pump for about $30 and the first time I used it the frame on it bent and it wouldn't work

I'm sure mine wouldn't have been more than $30.

It looks like a cheaper version of this. http://www.capitalcycles.co.nz/black...mp-p-1052.html

It works just fine and fits onto the valve better than any petrol station pump I've ever tried.

I don't like those myself. We use one at work (heavy usage) and the hose parts company with the valve without too much help.

Maybe for weekly usage by one or two people they would be fine.

    Yep, plus lifetime warranty...

Forget the foot pump jobs, they just bend.

I feel your pain. I went and bought a cheap compressor and always check my tyres before heading out on the road....But just in case I have an electric air pump( goes in the cig lighter) in my saddle bag and its amazing how many bikers I have helped out on the side of the road that are trying to pump up a flat black thing.
I also carry a tyre repair kit......Those that I help out don't tend to laugh at my Harley Ultra Mini Bus with all the bags on it that are filled with all sorts of interesting things as well as Bourban
As far as Dip Shits that pull out in front of you....bugger we have gun laws
