I want to ride everyday...... Fuck work
So because some grunt that doesn't know jack shit says "watch out" its OK.
Yeah right.
You just fuck it up for the rest don't you. Think only of yourself. You are the type of person that would moan like hell if Ardmore MX , Harrisville, or Taupo MX track were to close yet you are quite happy to compromise our riding at Woodhill forest. Go ride some place else illegally and see what happens.!!
Hey everyone here is a prime example of the type of person that only thinks of themselves and we all suffer as a result. No wonder we are losing places to have rides.
One or two stuff it up for hundreds so give these people that think its their god given right to ride in the wrong places hell. Thye know its stuffing it for the masses!!
So if it was that illegal to ride there why hasnt the local council put effort into stopping people going up there? why wouldnt the bike park been closed 15 years ago? i mean the nations prime minsters shops 30mins away it wouldnt be hard to push through sumone patroling it with some mega fines?? the truth is no one gives a shit its basically a baron waste land hence the armys bombing practice.
Tracks closing, i keep hearing it but they always seem to pull through.. give me some that have?? off the top of my head everything i grew up on tokoroa, puke, ardmore, patetonga,, taupo, wakatane even your gay little trail bike park the "sandpit" are still up and running, so i guess those "One or Two" arent doing a very good job at ruining it for everyone, i guess we had better move onto sum golf courses, maybe john keys front lawn?
Now Poindexter i dont no facts about the sandpit so perhaps you could fill me in but guessing by the stink your`ve kicked up your possibly one of the owners of the new adventure, and iam sure wouldnt like to see the coin disapair from your pockets because someone is making some money there judging by the amount of riders that have been there the last few times ive been, now prove me wrong again but it doesnt appear that the waitamata club is actually running it just helping, so its a Ardmore type setup unlike a Pukekohe setup were volunteers run everything??
Yep the sandpit makes a profit I would guess, but unlike the old park it is blatently obvious to see that they are/have put money back into maintaining it and developing it. It's much better now, which is a good thing.
I personally got chased and stopped by a 4x4 police car, and given an advisory notice not to use the beach with an unlicenced vehcile. So it does happen.
More and more people are now riding bikes, if everyone goes up there and more accidents start happening, it can't/won't be ignored and there will be reprocussions. I'm sure you can see this point of view, and please remember that these forums are seen by many more people than the members of KB.

there's only legal and illegal.
no in between, and at the moment its illegal. so just because its not patrolled 24/7 that means you can go and ride there ILLEGALY?
id prefer that it not be patrolled 24/7 so the police could be catching criminals not just chasing arrogant losers.
all you need to do is piss off the wrong person, and then all land that bikers have permission to use is now off limits because some fuckwit thought that it would be 'sick as bro' to ride around the wrong people
you want an example of a few ruining it for all?
round 2 of the 2man was to be held on some land near the sandpit, but then a few decided that they were allowed to ride on this PRIVATE property, then they were stupid enough to get caught. guess what no more dirt bikers allowed.
you don't seem to think much of the sandpit, but considering the amount of people who go there, i also think your a minority
dunes are boring anyway, oh well done you know how to hold the throttle open. we'll put it on the fridge for you
we may just go where no ones been
as everyone has said rideing at muriwai gets us all in the poo it deemed a public road good chance of getting a ticket etc etc
some of the rides in maramarua were stoped because some people went off the marked trails into an area the was getting felled not very smart
there are other places where you can go ride in the dunes without pissing everyone off , ahipara is bloody great once you get past all the fishers and noobi there is more to it that just holding the throttle open , climbing massive dunes is a blast and coming back down is some scary shit. Agreed that rideing for miles down the beach isn't that exciting
"The world is a strange sad place. Ride as often as possible and try not to think about it".
I guess i should have added that iam not stupid enough to ride up the beach that far thats what 4wds and trailers are for... then i wouldnt see a problem with riding theres enough fukn beaches in this country for people to go swim/suntan at, in the greater auckland area you have got Karioitahi and muriwai, which are both horrible beaches for people to be spending the day at, why not just make them for vechiles only? How many people have really been injured?? The little girl that got hit by the bike earlier this year really sucks, but its kind of out of proportion the amount of coverage something like that gets, and the work they put into preventing that again, when you have suicides outnumbering the roadtoll????? wheres the overhyped coverage on that??? lil off topic there but it all links up to the same crap, more and more rules every year, backed by the sheep that compromise most of the people on this site..
oh yea and the bike park sucks...
on the other hand, as much as i agree with your point about beaches. the west coast of the greater auckland region is the only beach in the national public spotlight in regards to vehicles- you could go ride at any other beach in the country without anyone giving a shit - we know how to ride responsibly, but joe public and his family who want to hang out for the day at a shit beach see all recreational vehicles the same- menaces out to hurt their family and damage nature or some shit.
Real mature, ktmboy had to change the venue for a recent cross country because of illegal riding so yeah he knows what he is talking about.
you see unlike you he has actually been working to provide events and places to ride that work, idiots like you are what makes it hard for people to get areas to ride.
What really annoys me though is you insulting all those who work to keep places open by deliberately making it hard, so in common with kayne west you are jackass of the week.
Well at least i guess you wont be seen ridind at the sand pit any more the odd are youd be asked to leave anyway. As for the rest of your comments what a cock Gee poor girl got hit and everyone one made a big deal bout it what bout the other girls that where hit on a beach a couple a years back and she was killed or did they make to big a deal out of that as well. My guess is you would be doing well just to stick to your road bikes.

FFS stay off the range. I was up there earlier this week & we had a bunch of quad riders well within the lethal radius of the explosion we were about to hit. Wasted heaps of time clearing the dickheads out.
There's all sorts of High explosive shit from the Skyhawk days that gets exposed by the shifting sands on a regular basis, that's why we have all those notices that say the NZDF will not be responsible if you get smeared by a blind rocket warhead. plus there's a colony of endangered fairy terns there (we know where they are and keep well away). I suggest you do too.

First things First, Every man & his donkey is entitled to an opinion.
Dosent matter whether dunes are boring or fun, the fact remains that it is quite easy to get in to trrouble there. I have been there a few times and it was fun for what it was.
There is no one controlling the movement of bikes or 4X4 nuts over there. I know a mate who broke his back there and it was apparently a big load of shit getting him out of there..so danger wise and medical aid wise u r pretty much screwed if you need it...
The person who first showed me the bombing range and took me there jumped of a dune and straight in to a 4X4(not a pleasant experience)
If thats not enough then you could very easily stray in to the forest and get shot at by those mad men toting guns..i would shoot at a dick on a bike if he ruined my hunting aswell..these hunters pay good money to use the forest for a hunt and its just not on to ruin someone elses day.
Army is there occasionally , so the long drive there might just not be worth it.
Its almost 80 K's to and back if you start from muriwai beach. The truck chews through gas on the sand(atleast my one does)..
Lets face facts it is illegal to ride there and personally i dont want to be the person who ruins it for everyne else by getting caught out there...
Did i mention the tides...you better know the tides well if you want to drive up that beach..those abandoned cars on the beach were caught by incoming tides......................is it worth it????
I still go down there with the mrs for a drive.minus the trailer and the bike....
As far as the bike park is concerned..i dont think its anyones business whether it makes money or not.....i was at the last 2 man and i heard the orgainser thank the dickheads who trespassed on to private property and had the event cancelled....i dont think the bike park needs anyones extra 25 bucks to stay open...i am no fan of sand or the sandpit but thats cause i suck at riding sand not cause of the people there or anything else. It is vastly better from the previous regime and at $25 is probably the cheapest place to go...
these forums are for discussing various things concerning dirt bikes..... If slandering people is on your priority list,,,please do it elsewhere!!!!
Regardless of what people say about the range it is DEFENCE Property. That means it is illegal to ride there without the authority of the bombing range warden. This also means that under the law if a defence force person was to be there and you were there on your bike they have the right to arrest you until handed over to the appropriate authority, this also includes confiscating any property you have there. Just because some people ride it doesn't make it right for everyone......
And take not of the Flags, if red is up then get the f off the range![]()
