Did you pass me on the Hiway just before Wairau Park.

Ok, I was going to the motorway happily trundling along when I noticed a bike in my lane behind me about to pass, Of course in my noobness when I looked into my right hand mirror, and the excessive wind with my over loaded backpack, my bike shifted to the right of the lane. he still passed me but shook his head at me.

If it was you sorry bro. wind and all. my bad.

otherwise I decided to follow this dude cos he had a ncie bike and I fancied a bit of a huune throu traffic. I followed him until newmarket. it was quite a good fun ride trying to catch him. managed to overtake once but was quickly put in my place.

but I noticed about 35 riders coming the other way. was there some event or do lots of motorbikes head north on the southern motorway on sunday evenings?

    Wasn't me mate.
If it was I would of changed lanes before passing you, then what ever you did wouldn't have been a problem.
You'll find most riders will swing to the side their looking at in their mirror,it's just the old body following the eyes thing. Most times we don't even realise we do it and it only becomes an issue if we get some prat trying to over take without changing lanes to do it.
REALISE THIS NOW,you were not in the wrong,he was!!

    Cool

    nup it wasnt me...lol

I just came back from Mirangi Bay (left there around 7.10pm) back over the bridge... and down the nor-western motorway...

Spotted a few bikes sitting outside houses in Mirangi Bay thou today even up to Browns Bay there were a few.

One bike followed me back over the bridge and past me on the big curve.... and headed south.

I did spot a few bikes going the opposite direction to me, when I was heading up Greenheithe to Browns Bay around 2pmish.

crashe! think it was you! lol!
on the big curve just after the bridge I pulled into the left hand lane and dropped down a gear and past everyone. I was wearing a biggass green backpack.

were you doing a lot of looking behind you going over the bridge and hand signals?

thanks for the heads up Jackrat. I was surprised he gave me a head shake for that. maybe it was at my overloaded backpack or sommat

*edit: but that doesnt nessesarily mean you were the guy overtaking me. I just assummed. looked similar I think

Nope I dont think it was me.. the person who passed me stayed on the outer lanes after passing me.... and I was zip zapping my way throu the traffic up over the bridge...

The rider passed me on the downhill of the bridge... dont recall a packrack on the back thou.

I am on a cruiser bike. The jacket is red/black and silver stripe on the back and I wear a whilte helmet with 2 stickers on the back of it.

I could well be wrong. but it sounds right. this guy was doing alot of lane changing which was making it quite fun to catch up. I got behind you once or twice then you moved off again.

It was a backpack btw not a mounted rack.

definately was a cruiser. left hand on leg for some of the way. I think it had blue on the bottom left maybe?

did I give you a nod when I passed you on the downhill side of the bridge? white and orange helmet with tinted visor and purple/black bike? (see profile piccy )

Dang it ...lol....it may have been me...
but I wasnt using my hands to indicate....
Yes I do ride with my left hand on my leg when cruising....

My cruiser is black and white. I had a small blue bag strapped on the pillion seat.

Yep I was given a nod on the downhill as ya passed...

I wasnt shaking my head at you.... I do remember shaking my head at the slowwwwww car in front of me going up the bridge holding up traffic and I was figuring out how to get past the git...lol.

awesome. first time ive seen a KB'r out in the wild. except for bugjuice of course.

    hopefully more encounters soon.

since Ive decided (mainly from subtle comments about the L plate speed restriction) to be 'Liberated' I am having way more fun. also Im able to go on noob rides etc.

I reckon it was a another biker that passed me in the same lane crashe. when I chased him I must of lost sight and then saw you.
cos he passed me just under the bridge at the top of the hill when you leave the oxidation ponds and constellation drive.

Phew... glad there was another rider....

But I reckon it was me on the bridge...
I turned off at Union/Cook Street to go on the Nor-western motorway...
you continued south bound as that was where I last saw you going south.

bugger. I must be blind. Im not used to going that fast so I was watching the cagers instead of the bikes. that means I saw 3 different bikes and thought they were all the same person haha

yeah I follow the guy down as far as ellerslie and then went back up because I needed to get on the NW to get home.

need to get better at that.

then again, some bikers might think im harrasing them by, well I suppose it would be called 'chasing' them, I would say racing but I spent most of my time behind them
