    Thumbs up

I can recommend the Discoveries, a bit soft on protection but waterproof, a bit hot in the summer (but then which boot isnt?)

Jandals are good in summer. Or Crocs.

I prefer Crocks as you dont get so much gravel between your toes on long rides!

CROCS......snigger. Jandals if it's fine, gummies if it's wet.

I've just been down to try a pair on. Looked and felt like a fine boot for $229, with just enough lateral ankle support. But the biggest size they have is a 43 and it was just a bit snug in the toe box for me. They've got about 10 pairs left, and only 1 of pair of size 43.

Hmm, thinking about it. How much abuse have they had in the 3-4 years and how much do they smell?

update: they did have one size of 43 left.. i only went to look at gloves, but couldn't resist, they fitted like a, er, glove. i couldn't say no, especially as my boots had demonstrated their worth in today downpour.. (i tried to haggle her down to two notes, but she was having none of it!) gotta say i'm pretty pleased with them..

The discovery boots, once full, won't leak a drop. You'll have to tip them out.

    They got wet

Standing in the river last weekend with the water level up to my crotch, my boots got wet inside.

I will be taking them back for a refund

Wouldn't have helped Cary. He'd just be lugging more water around with those.

Maybe he needs the bib overall type.

Only problem I see is the seam running horizontally across the inside leg. I'll never buy another pair of boots without a single panel inside leg. With my current Gearne boots, this seam is now totally ripped. I often have to wrap duct tape right around the boot now. The boot catching on the footpeg has caused me to drop my bike more than once.
Do ya think a shoe repair place could fix em??Are they good otherwise.
