Best rear tyre for M3DE?

Hi there,
Looking for new rear tire to put on for the M3DE.

Anyone have a any recommendations? its for a ktm 125..
At the moment i have a V rubber tyre and its great for roots etc but think its so soft rubber as on the side wall i have only 6 nobs left from about 36!! the back ends starting to slide right out now haha.

Just an S12 brooo ^_^ Tried afew, stoked as with the s12, will be on them for a while id say. They last for ages to!

knowing maramarua and given it's a 3 day enduro i'd be changing the rear at the end of day one and two and the front at the end of day two.

as for the tyre, either an S12, MH3 or a pirelli scorpion. it all depends on the conditions though, in the dry maramarua can chew through tyres, requiring a hard compound or in the mud it will just want grip, requiring soft compound.

my old man did the 6 day back in 2006 in taupo and he was running the 6 day tyres and he reckoned that they lasted fairly well, even with all the road use. he alternated the tyre changes each day (eg - day one, rear tyre, day two, front tyre, day 3 rear tyre, etc..)

will ask dad what he's running for the M3DE.

my mh3 was shit didnt last half as well as the ms3 now on ms32 perillis they seam to hold quite well so far real good out of the corners

my pick would be metzler mc5 or bridgestone m402, curently running a michelen s12xc.

Is the M404 the old M40? I have M40's on at present and I'm impressed.

I will be trying the new S12(yes they have changed to a more durable compound for better wear and have a harder side wall) next to see how they go compared to the old s12. But then most of my riding is in the sand.

I'd be going M404 and if it does rain then they are still very useful in the mud.

ive tried one of the new s12 and it didnt wear any beta than the old ones.i think theyre about $30 more to?

M404 is prob a bit more mid pack than the M40, that is closer to the M204,

the M402 has been replaced by the M404,

and i think it will be a bit hard pack there for the S12

i found differently, the s12 i just replaced did quite a few hours on a broad spectrum of terrain types and held up really well, the old compound s12 i had only lasted 4 rides before most of the knobs fell off, so id say they definitely have improved.

Put a 404 on and doesn't seem to be wearing to well, and finding it not as good in the sand as a 402. Will possibly try one of those michelin xc's next...any reports on those?

my s12 xc has done kuratau 2 day trail ride, 2 day trail blazer, 2 day pumice blast, 3 other trail rides some of have alot of hard pack gravel sections and a few trips up the tar-seal road to a mates mx track approx 4km round trip to the track. and is lasting quite well, ive never had a s12 last like this on a 450, the crf used to destroy them in no time or ive just got fat and slow.......
