I purchased a bike rider and kiwirider in August to see if i would buy either one of them on a regular basis. The answer is no. Bike Rider had a stupid mid-size shootout (gee that hasn't been done before) and the writing was rather average. Kiwirider is meatier (has a lot of ads but they are good ads!) but seems to suffer the same average write ups as bike rider. I can happily live without either of them saves me a lot of money as well!

Don't like anything that's got ads for Quadbikes and jetskis etc.

Used to like Motocycle Sport and Liesure (Uk). Bike rider would be passable but too lite.

Ok not wanting to sound silly what the heck does AMCN stand for. I get bikerider kiwirider and motorcycle trader. I like to read the reviews and stories. The bike rider gives you tips and I like to try new things, new ways of doing the same thing when I am out on a long ride and I feel like playing around. Lots of people like lots of different things about riding, different things give us the rush, I like to explore, safely of course. You can pick up a lot of things even in a review.

Not silly to ask a legitimate question when you don't know something, Jules.

True, reviews can have interesting content, provided it is kept in context that they are often one persons/'groups' point of view.

    nearly forgot.

I read 'Old BIKE / AUSTRALASIA'. Even found a blurb on a guy my dad knew, back in the day.

Read AMCN for work. Used to get BSH years ago, but got too expensive.

I used to get the UK RIDE magazine and really enjoyed that as their product tests were great. Even if you couldn't get the brands here, it gave heaps of tips on what to look for when buying whatever, like gloves or boots, so it was still useful.

Great bike tests and interesting write ups. My local shop stopped getting it years ago but the other half said he saw it in a shop recently so the distributors must have started bringing it in again.

The other thing I liked about it was they had women on the staff and they would be involved in the bike tests, write ups etc so you got a female viewpoint as well.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

KiwiRider, I think I still have every issue (unless I've lent some that haven't been boomeranged)

Rapid is pretty good. It began a few years back with a streetfighter focus but has evolved into a more mainstream mag, good reviews, articles, racing coverage, high quality print and pics.
Also Amcn but find that hard to locate??

Kiwi Rider is a good looking and informative bike mag. The Brittish SuperBiker is a good mag also

Fav international mag = Performance Bike (though it current incarmation is tame compared to what it used to be)

fav NZ mag = Biker rider (broad coverage and not as many ads as that other NZ mag)

PB (performance Bikes) from the UK. It's a hi-lite of the month when it arrives in my mail box! AMCN is pretty good for up to date sport news.
