How long does the AA batteries last? If you had a 32Mb card these batteries wouldn't last would they?
Can you use re-chargeable AA in this unit?
What are the dimensions of the camera? You think it will handle the rigors of Motorbike use if mounted on the handlebars?

But how useful is that? Will 2 AA batteries actually power it long enough to shoot 32GB worth of footage?

heres an idea guys ... take some extra batteries with you.
the batteries are normally the weak point on most cameras.

after using my GoPro i can tell you the remote control would be really handy.

But if you advertise that it will take the SD card, then really you want a camera that will last for the duration...
Taking a hoard of AA batteries would defeat the purpose.
I am wondering if there is an option to maybe have a 12V connection or something for a camera, like running the GPS unit off the bike......
Now, that would be good wouldn't it, unlimited filming, fill up the SD card....
I would like to have more SD cards than more AA batteries....
Edit the footage when home and enjoy!

the problem i have with mine is im limited to AA batteries and a 2GB card so im only good for about 60mins. the other problem is i have mine mounted on my mid fairing so i have to lean over and turn it on by feel. if i bump it when i m turning it on i lose count of button pushes and dont know if its on or off. i do like the gopro mounting though.

Batteries

Name-Brand Alkaline Batteries will give you around 2:45 (Energizer) - 3:10 (Duracell) hours of recording time, but much less in cold weather. So do NOT use these in the cold.

Energizer Lithium/Ultimate Lithium Batteries will give you up to 10 hours of recording time. These are highly recommended, especially for cold weather.

And you don't need to fill up 32GB in one sitting. Imagine how boring that video would be.

Would be ideal for this weekend, Fishers, 42nd. It took me and Joe 3 hours to do the 18km of old Whanga road last time so that would be perfect.

Stamina - approximately 10 hours with the highest grade Energizers.
Rechargeables are not recommended by Tachyon as they are physically larger than a standard non rechargable battery.
Approximate dimensions as follows, 40mm wide,100mm length, 55mm eight, the Tachyon is extremely and robust.
We have mounted the cameras on handle bars on the high horsepower jetskis, coping with extreme conditions.
Handle bar mounting kit is an extra that we currently have in stock.

The usual pack, I will get my own SD card, 8Gb should be sufficient.
I can mount it on my helmet or use the handlebar mount which I would buy...

Another great feature on the Tachyon is the remote control function, also has LED's to indicate the camera is powered on and another LED to let you know it is recording.
