KTMs on BlueBridge Ferry

When I was booking Ferry crossings online I came across a wee problem. When it asks you to put in the make of vehicle, my BMW was no problem BUT the other bike I was booking on was a KTM and they don't even have KTM in there list of vehicles.
Some may say its just an oversite, others will call it a conspiracy and some may even go so far as to call it discrimination !!!!! Me, I just laughed my tits off, because my mates KTM has to cross Cook Straight disguised as a BMW !!!!!!! It was either that or a Lada

oh its a KTM free zone.....think someone else had the same problem a while back with a bike

DR's can be disguised as a KLR and vickie verka!
KTM's, well......the orange colour is good for the Life Bouy...Throw 'em over the side to help drowning DR owners....

Yea, All the cheap tickets on the interislander were gone and the dear ones were $255 for 2people plus bike and BB was only $160. I usually go over on Interislander on the 2pm sailing as it gives me more time to get to Welly, and come back on the BB on the 8AM sailing which gives more time to get home.

I went Bluebridge last time I crossed and found it way more relaxing - plenty of space, quicker to get on and off, and I think a little cheaper - I'd use them in preference.

Cheers for the tip, I do find all the dicking around on the interislander to be a pain, would be nice to have that all happen a bit quicker.

Do they supply you with tie downs for the bike?

And the cafe is open as soon as you get onto the boat. Fast access to coffee and toast is a lifesaver on early crossings.

Edit: They supply wheel blocks, and ropes for tying down, but you are always better off taking your own tiedowns. Or 4Skin's tiedowns, if you are silly enough to leave yours at home
