There is a point that appears to be being missed here...
A lot of people are saying "no-one was hurt, so whewre is the problem"?
The problem is that people were clearly put at risk. Imagine the scenario that a family of four were wandering obver the bridge (or driving over it) at the time of the "stunt" and were killed when the bike/rider landed on top of them.
Would we all be saying Carver is a "hero" then???
What if someone else tries the same thing having seen the publicity and innocent people get killed? Should Carver take some respnsibility?
If the thing had have been properly organised and arranged so that the only person that could have been killed was Carver, then I would have a lot more sympathy..
As for the request for funds - I will put it in the same recepticle as some others I have seen:
- "Jonesey" has crashed his bike. Help him fix it.
Later fround that jonesy was riding a 1100cc bike on a restricted licence...
- Terrible bike design causes crash
Later found that bike snapped in half at the steering stem at 160km/h and that the rider 'loved pulling wheelies".
Carver, you enjoyed your 5 minutes of fame and were basically ASKING and BAITING the cops to prosecute. You put innocent people's lives at risk without asking them or considering them. Now is the time to man up and pay the price...
The police are absolutely correct to prosecute this case....
