    More bullshit.

S.59 was used successfully as a defence to common assault a grand total of 8 times.

Amazing that 12% of the population were either too gullible or too stupid to actually read facts, preferring instead to believe whatever they were spoonfed.

Perhaps that 12% are the undiagnosed psychotics purported to inhabit our workplaces (the Herald said 10%, but maybe their stats weren't quite accurate)

Perhaps so,and before being an MP she was a useful union organiser, but she was far too hag ridden by the hobgoblins of her own past.

Effective STATESMEN (or stateswomen) are those who rise above the concept that the world is a reflection of their own lives.

Or maybe it was fact reading the 11.8% done, maybe they looked at the research on the topic and drew from their experience with working some of the most challenging children in society and living in a house full of kids and made an informed decision. Sue Bradford only wrote the bill. 113 members of parliament were responsible for making it law.

Sue Bradford resigns and an another unelected person that nobody has ever heard of enters parliament. Isn't MMP amazing.

So 87% of the population do not have kids, do not work with kids, can't read (especially not the Otago research, or the real stats that showed that Durrant lied in her research paper)? Oh yeah - absolutely none of that 87% are in any way involved in the intervention or treatment in child abuse cases...

Or is this just one more example of socialist elitism i.e. we'll tell you what to do, how to act, what to think. We are your masters - you should be grateful. Yep - that fits, both in application and political ideology

It'll be a cold day in Hell when a person like that tells me how to raise my kids.
What's next - govt approved hugs? With a ration on amount per month?

As wide apart as our politics are you are always welcome here, just don't bring Sue with you on the fanny bracket!

On second thoughts, even she would be made welcome as a visitor!

...the National Party, Labour Party, and Green Party, respectively.
Exactly, they are all left wing socialists but they have to be to attract the left wing New Zealand electorate and their votes!

We get the governments that the majority deserve! Damn it!

I don't know how 87.6% of those who voted decide how to vote the way they did. I certainly wouldn't assume that I knew. Nor do I know how the 12% that voted yes decided to vote yes. I was just raising the point that there are other reason for that 12% voting the way they did other than.

On a side note if you have or know of any evidence that supports the use of corporal punishment please let me know.
