    Looking at Honda motorbikes

We'll I'm leaving my work in two weeks... getting my final pay and starting my new job straight away , better pay blah blah etc etc

I'm looking at spending about $4-5,000 The final pay wont be enough but combined with savings

Id like a 250cc cause I only got a learners licence...

Only one I can really find is the Hornet and CBR =/

    Any suggestions?

I liked the hornet... such a nice bike for commuting and reasonably quick (smooth as feck). Just a little bit outta my price range so I got a Honda zxr250c instead
Good luck finding the right bike.. test drive as much as possible (if).

I recommend the NSR250 or CBR250RR. I used to ride the NS400R. Nice and lite bike.

Who cares what name is on a bike, if it does the job you want.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

I was looking at late model 250s and had the following observations on Hondas:

Hornet = too expensive even though it was damn nice to ride (I someimes regret not chucking in the extra 1500 bucks to have the extra poke over 110km/h but around town it would have been too much work)

VTR250 = Right price, nice smooth and v.torquey engine so it won't throw you off, and very chuckable. Top speed limited to around 130-140 but I find I don't really need it to go any faster, otherwise I'd just lose my license. Nothing like the growl of an overworked V-2 anyhow.

The others I looked at just didn't feel right or didn't have the sport bike look that I was after.

Frankie, there ain't alot of options out there for a 250 Honda. And as much as I love Honda bikes, you should look around at the other options.

There are some nice 250s around your price range if you consider other makes...
    Good luck.....
