    Kitten vs seat

ok so i keep my quite new r6 in the garage next to my dads fz1 when its not been ridden to keep it safe and tucked away from any stray view.

i went to go for ride today, but once i got to the bike i noticed, hugely to my discust, that there was a series of very small kitten claw and bite marks in the seats so im absolutely gutted because im quite proud of my bike, cause im an apprentise and saved really hard and bought the bike new less then 6 months ago.

    still cant believe it

at this stage the holes are really small, but i assume the more i ride the bike, the bigger the holes may get. so may have to consider getting them (both, yes BOTH!) either recovered or repaired.

so what do you guys think? know of anywhere that i could get these small holes repaired easily without looking rude? or you reakon wait to see if the holes develope into rips and then get the seats recovered or replaced

    Thumbs up Replaced

I would take them in to get recovered. We go to Meads Upholstery/Trimmers ... i think they call themselves here in Matamata. he's done work recovering a GPX seat for us, covering some stereo spacers for our car (in vinyl I think it was) and covering a sub box for us ... pretty versatile really, and they do a damn good job in my experience. And I think my partner is going to get him to cover his ZXR seat as well, once he's finished orking on everything else on his bike.

I wouldn't bother repairing them, for one, I have no idea how they would do it so that it would last, and besides, it would probably costs just as much as getting it replaced!!

As an interim step, throw a bit of duct tape over the holes to
    A) stop them getting bigger
    and
    B) stop moisture getting in to the seat padding

So many pussy jokes to be had ...............

Recover when you have the $ and make it a bit more exciting - use some colour or mixed textures.

And rub some catnip on your dads seat to keep the kitten off yours!

I would be seriously pissed off.
(and the cat would be looking for a new home)
Look at it as an opportunity to upgrade to a new Gel seat.

Yep,when told to "get up" i had a 49kg Huntaway attempt to sit on the seat of my TL instead of the back of my ute which resulted in some carnage followed by some foul language.

What are you worried about? It's only an R6.

gutted! should definitely get a cover for it so that the cat cant sit directly on it! my car had multiple dog bites when i bought it, and we were able to get it fixed in NP so that you hardly could see anything. so im sure there is somewhere up here that could repair it so noone would know!

I've had cats sitting on my bikes for years - lucky they have never damaged anything.
When I got the Hornet it coincided with getting a new Tortoise shell kitten - I discovered she used my brand new bike to launch herself off onto a cabinet in the shed! I promptly had a move around so she had no reason to get on the bike.

I still occasionally find her just sitting on the seat, presumably pretending shes going for a hoon!

The old cat is too old to be bothered jumping that high!

I do have a couple of deep scratch marks in the bonet of my car from one of them

Cats eh - just what goes through those little minds!

Right now I am having trouble with the neighbours cat walking all over my bike and the girlfriends car. It is seriously pissing me off.

So if anyone has one of those possum traps I could borrow, the ones where they walk in and get trapped, then give me a yell. I'll trap it then turn the hose on the cat for a few minutes. As it is, by the time I get the hose out, the cat has run away.
