Riding to concerts? Would you do it?

    Hi All,

Just thinking about a couple of concerts I'm going to soon (Bad Religion/NOFX and then Pearl Jam ).

It would be convient if I could take my bike there, as people I'm going with don't live anywhere near me, and I won't have a car for Pearl Jam unless I tell my missus not to go to work on that day.

However down side would be having to store bike gear somewhere, and bike possibly not being safe by itself while I'm practising Iron Back Kung Fu in the mosh pit...

I was going to ask you all what I should do, but after typing this thread I think I've talked myself out of the bike idea...

Or should I just HTFU, go to the shows with full gear on, and pretend I'm the stig...??

    Sounds good to me

Do you know anyone in the city you can dump crap at? I dont mean your gear is crap either. Hey, here's a thought though, does Britomart have lockers?

ask yourself, what would Jesus do ?

edit: one option is always to ride squid, this way you don't have a problem storing the gear, just need to lock the helmet on the bike. And I do reckon your bike will be safe, as long as you do not park it in direct proximity to the concert grounds. 500m distance is not too bad I think. If the concert is in vector arena you can always leave it in the Foodtown car park and not worry about it.

Why don't you check with the venue to see if they have locker facilities available.

I vote the same as YellowDog or wbks. Or if you have friends going, ask if you can leave your gear in their car.

Brilliant, why didn't I think of that?

But then SARGE has a good point. Maybe I need to experiment with buses...
