Throw ANY 250 out the back of an airrplane at 10000 feet and they will all reach 200km/h before impact. Not good for much else afterwards mind you

Would be the best way of improving acceleration though and I think more people should do it.

How about a ZZR400 in parts? It's slow and shit like most 250s?

But, some get horrid power delivery problems, I rode on that bogged between 10-17,000rpm...now that was shit.
True.. yea they are ok for a 250.. Didn't expect much from them from 10-17 anyway.. 17-18 was pretty much where it gave it some effort. Think to wheelie it I would rev slip the clutch and let the revs hit 15-16 eh.. They were very peaky from mem. again been many years since I owned and road em.

Anyway still going with don't expect to be doing 180+ easily on the little zeal, and I don't find the cbr250rs that amazing over 160.. you have to wait around, im sure they can do it. - 2 stroke 250 is a bit more amusing.

A well cared for and properly tuned one in standard form has a fairly flat power delivery with a small step in "power" at around 10,000rpm. Poorly tuned/maintained ones are peaky.
250 four strokes are all gutless anyway....

Two stroke is definitely more amusing.

Random question, would a fairing like this help my speed?

I wouldn't think so. That thing is going to be pushing against a huge amount of air. It works really well on a CB750 in terms of keeping the air off the rider but it's not designed with top speed in mind.

My 2t 250 road bike (rmx-250) has no trouble accelerating above 100, though it's geared fairly short. If I didn't care so much about my licence etc, 5th gear would end around 150 at a guess.
It's running a 15 tooth on the front, instead of the factory 13 tooth. But that's because it was sitting too much on the power at 100 in 5th... not the most relaxing thing to ride when it's so peaky at 100.

Not a 250 but fits the L plate. My FXR150 has seen 151 indicated. It does 132 on the gps at 140 indicated.

haha.. meh.. I'd have to say i've ridden a neglected one and it just didnt have any power at all. It is the well maintained ones that make any power at all, which really comes in at high rpm. 15,000rpm plus. I can't remember ever having to stop brewing my cup of tea on the tank around 10,000. One can even google some power curve charts to see

Get out on the bike and ride, enough of this internet shit. CBR250Rs are a fun enough bike, but if you want 180+ get a 2 stroker or a big bore. Thats what im getting at

I never thought of brewing a cup of tea on a CBR, that would have made it a better ride....
I'll just swing a leg over the 600 then?
