Yarr drag and hp at the wheel would be the deciding factor at top speeds. vfr and cbr should be fairly similar in that respect.

So your saying if somebody half my weight rode my bike to max speed, the max speed would be the same?

It would make some difference but the effect would me minimal compared to drag and hp, the amount of drag caused by the larger profile of the heavier bloke would be way more noticeable.

And not the drag of the extra weight on the tyres?

And being fat is more aerodynamic as im a teardrop profile.

Back in 93 I had a NS250R 2 smoka it was stupidly fast... angry grasshopper did 195 kmhr if I screamed the shit out of it.
Had lots of fun playing cat and mouse with the MOT

Then I grew up a wee bit and discovered my GSXR750R even more fun!!!!

In fact, the highest speed I recorded on it was 214kph (GPS again, and yes I do have the recorded 'track' to prove it) when I was running a highly modified set-up, but it wasn't economical for the street so I have since gone back to almost factory settings.

...and the number of times this thread has been resurrected astounds me!
aaaaand Bullshit. prove it. throw up the vid for a start.

keep up with an 1198? and a CBR? well sure, lets assume you were all doing the speed limit - then of course, the cbr will do 100km/hr. But beyond that, you are simply full of shit if you think your cbr250 would keep up with 180+hp bikes.

Drunkenmistake's cbr 250 put out 38.8 HP at the rear wheel on a dyno. cant say I have seen a cbr250 put out more than that, and have the print out from the dyno to prove it. and I rode that thing, the needle got near to 175/180, true speed closer to 155-165
heres a linky to his print out

As per above also forgot to mention that it was doing 12000 revs at that speed and exhaust was red hot and smoking... tended to fry the rings a few times though.....

I had it ringing out all the way through to 6th going to Blenheim and I go it to 202km/h on the gps but that was going down hill, so going through the Canterbury straights I was only getting up to 178km/h, unless you have done a huge sprocket change it will take you forever to even get up to that speed, besides its just a fucking waist of time having a top end that high on a 250, One, its illegal to even travel at that speed on the road, and Two, you cant even get up to that speed on the track.
And before someone pipes up about me saying its illegal on the road after posting what I done on my 250, Im a fucking idiot and I should not be used as a responsible example of a motorcylist.

Have done 130kph on the Yamaha Zeal so far... Heard they can reach 140kph but I'm not that brave to find out!

Got up to 120kph on the Scorpio. Think that's the best it can do unless I were lighter!

I had a Scorpio for a week or so when my 400 got written off as a rental bike,
the shop owner told me I could rape it all I wanted it wouldnt die,
I think I road that thing in the red zone until my hands went numb from vibrations, and even then it was only doing like 120 - 125 indicated haha, fun as fuck though!

I could run faster than both of them and a Hayabusa turbo.

Provided, of course, that they didn't go above walking speed.
