Thumbs up It's new, and it's lovely...

The Very Reverend Doctor the Honorable Jim2 called in tonight on his "way home" which, unsurprisingly considering what he was astride, was not the shortest distance between his place of employment and his place of residence.

Jim2 is the proud and doting owner of a very new, very red and very lovely Yamaha R6.

Don't just take my word for it, check out the attached pix!

    Brilliant, Jim.

    Weee!!

Thanks for that, that saved me taking photos myself Very nice coffee too, Mrs Hitcher.

    Quick ride impression:

It's comfortable, it goes round corners with a great deal of aplomb and very little rider input, the suspension is sublime at low speeds, and once the pads were bedded in the brakes retard the progression of time itself. The first time I heard the brakes hiss, I very nearly burst into tears because I thought I'd broken something.

I love the disco dash at startup.

And the anodised bits, and the black bits - I think you have the picture.

The pipe is staying. I like it, it sounds nice, and I can't be bothered getting the ECU remapped.

I'll be up for a Sunday ride, but I'm limited to 5,500rpm until about 800kms. Which is 100km/hr in top, so I'll be taking it easy for a bit.

And the glasses with a helmet thing is a bit of a curse alright, but the Nolan flip front has definitely made life much easier. I can put my helmet on with my glasses on and then just close the front.
