the more mud, slop, cold and wet it is some of us actually ride better, i know i love the slop etc, like river head after heavey rain or kuratau trail ride in the extreme wet is just awsome, i say bring on the mud! just pity i cant come down and ride,,,, bloody cows to milk.

Its a fairly wide open forum with lots of different skill levels. Remember guys and girls we were all novices at one time and as we all get older we become novices again. Hell some of us are still riding following our kiddies around the junior loops, and getting left behind doing it. So don't get personal ya wallys.

He was showing me his downhill technique last time I rode with him. He crashed...narrowly missing a tree and stopping on his head.
Yeah I reckon it will be a good race, it was hard and dusty last time I rode there. will be more fun wet.
Only problem is it's a bit close to the sea, hope there's no tsunami's, that would really make it interesting, good luck all!
Anyway back on topic. Matata is like any other race. Different.
It can however become challenging for the senior (Ladies and junior is OK) riders if the tracks are some of the early ones used with the black slippery gum leaves on the ground.
I remember swapping ends half a dozen times along with about 12 others on one greazy slight up hill. bloody good fun.
