Just watch those Omarama straights -= they are rather tempting!

The HAYABUSA was okay, to say the least. The South Island trip was a bastard though as it rained every day and coming through Haast Pass in thunderstorm conditions was a real challenge. I did not get sore wrists or neck, I just got cold and wet. I have had the bike now for 8 weeks and travelled 8500 kms and that bike hasn't missed a beat. Its great for touring with one exception - after 5 or so hours it felt like I had overstressed some muscle I cannot pronounce midway between the right shoulder and hip, quite frustrating.
Getting around traffic was something I looked forward to, but getting on and off the ferry is a real pain, I hate having to fight with those tiedowns that smell as if they have never been cleaned.
I experienced winds on the west coast gusting 40 knots and the bike wavered but I never felt it slide.
If I was going to change anything, I would get hand warmers but I would hate to drive on icy roads anyway. I had to get glove liners going through Tekapo.
Travelling over Athurs Pass - in the rain - gave me a fright because the guage read close to redline, hell I didn't know there wasn't to be a petrol station for 55kms or so. I thought I was in for a wet walk, but the guage kept on dropping to the letter E and I made it, whoever designed this bike was no retard.
Overall I can say that you can never have enough power, it gives you flexibility and enjoyment, you just need to anticipate moreand if speed kills, its the 80 km an hour rod hogging idiot.
Think I will take the bike for a spin, can't get enough of it.

Great bikes. They handle surprisingly well in the tight stuff and on the track, like a fat, planted, predictable, over powered sport bike.

Don't really know, I think it worked out about 280 ks for each tank.

Have Oxford heated grips fitted. Best mod you can do to a Busa.
    Here for the ride.
