    Pillion virgin no more

Seeing as how the wife bought a jacket and helmet I took her out today for a ride two up, first time for me but she's done it before. Put some more air in the tires and jacked up the suspension. Worked ok but with the additional weight on the rear the steering was a bit wobbly on the 250 but ok to get the taste of it. Got back (just a few K's round the block) and the wife got off and said "we need a bigger bike" Shame the bike shops are shut on a Sunday. Don't think I'll double on this one again, still there is someone locally that pillions on a GN!

Know the feeling, we rode two up on my 250, me on the back... and it was not nice... yup bigger bike for you we thinks.

Don't "decide" too much straight away. Remember, at least half of what you saw and felt today was just you, not the bike. Lots and lots of people pillion on impossibly small bikes and get quite used to it. Take a break and try again after a few days... and then get a bigger bike lol.

now begins the joy of test riding a batch of top bikes with your other half. The shops take you real serious when you both turn up. My wife and I would dissappear for an hour, fit in a coffee and a ride and then move on to another bike shop!

go for it, enjoy and try lots of different bikes before commiting.

Try pillioning on an FXR150 with a 24 pack on the tank and more in the rider's backpack. XD

Yes! It's like learning to waterski - you accomplish just as much during the rest times, as you do during the practice.

Just have another little try when you are both relaxed about it, and build up slowly.

For myself, I loved taking a pillion and took to it right away.
