John Judge ,chair of ACC on RNZ

heres a few bullets from the interview on morning report, radio NZ this morning...

"If you ride a large bike you are pretty vulnerable and if you do have a crash, the injuries that you may receive are very, very expensive..."
    Mike Noon, AA

"The cost to the ACC of motorbike accidents and that is accidents solely caused by motorbikes,is enormous,it's currently five times the levie income,so that what we are proposing goes some small way really towards redressing that balance..."
John Judge ~ chair of ACC

"Every car owner is subsidising,is paying $77 a year towards the cost of motorbike accidents..."
John Judge ~ chair of ACC

I have had the pleasure of a lengthy conversation with Mr Noon regarding motorcycle safety, guess what?

How do you think the general public will feel when they listen to some cock like that Phil Garrett - "it's mostly the car drivers fault... car drivers need better training... our shit doesn't stink."

...then realise he is talking shit. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/ar...ectid=10597333

Any sympathy the general public may have had for motorcyclists will surely be lost if organisations like BRONZ and the industry continues to bury its head in the sand and blame everything on everybody else.

Anybody talking to the media on behalf of motorcyclists better have their facts straight rather than just talking out of a hole in their arse.

You can see what he is doing here....

Phil Garrett, director of Street and Sport Motorcycles in Christchurch told Radio New Zealand that most accidents involving motorcycles were caused by another vehicle.

He said 67 percent of accidents involved another vehicle and of those Transport Ministry figures showed 62 percent were the other driver's fault.

`Most of them are actually caused by other car drivers."

He is only talking about car vs bike accidents and is excluding single vehicle motorcycle accidents. The "most accidents involving motorcycles were caused by another vehicle" is not including all the single vehicle motorcycle accidents that occur weekend after weekend. When these are included as well... most motorcycle accidents are from rider error.
