If you decide to sell, who will want to buy your bikes ?
Especially if its over 600cc...

Sell?! Nope but if the changes go through I might not keep it on the the road - alteast not all year. When you have several other vehicles running it becomes a question of having to be a bit realistic about the 'toys'

If it comes to the crunch I will only ride 6 months of the year on the road & spend 6 months gouging the countryside. As much as I stamp my feet & clench my fists, compared to what I spend on the bike on an annual basis the proposed levies are a frustrating pain in the anus rather than a reason to stop riding. Sheesh.

Must admit I probably will. Don't get me wrong I love riding the scooter. But what with the over zealous road policing debacle, Takas rooted for the next 2 years and now this? I'll fight it all the way, but if Nick Smith gets his way I feel that the the burden just isn't worth carrying.

Jesus christ, Ray Charles showd more promise as a rider than you do. Anyway, I wont sell my bike. I'll just never register it, don't give a fuck. It's only ever going to do 30 kays a year to keep it from blowing up anyway.

Hmmm I wonder if when I get my GS1000 revinned, I can get it vinned as a GS600 instead of a GS1000. Just need to change the 997 on the barrels to a 597. Now where did I put that file and transfer punch set.
Back to the OP I wont sell but I will only have one of my bikes registered at a time.

Take out a plug and run it as a thumper on the way to get it vinned. Say one of the cylinders is poked and it's just acting as balast. Hey presto - 500cc machine.

Why? I have access to a Zebra printer (prints RUCs), Gimp is a free form of photoshop. Checkpoints only ever make visual inspections.

And I know where I could get some rolls of registration sticker paper (the real thing)

Wellington city is brought to a standstill today as an estimated 45,000 motorcyclists from all over New Zealand ride to parliament to protest over the dramatic rise in ACC levies.
Because of the number of motorcyclists police were unable to get to parliament to stop carver from doing wheelies in the corridors

I can see an old breed of renigade bikers reforming in the very near future. They will be the 21st century version of biker clubs from the 70s. they will buy or steal themselves a GSXR1000, R1, CBR1000 or ZX10. Not register it. Steal a number plate from someones scooter and ride the wheels off it. Never stop at check points and do a runner at every oppertunity. Some will die trying to get away and others will manage to escape. Motorcycling will become the hangout of the fringe element of society once again.

I dont know how I must of had a intuition that something was afoot as the day before this bombshell was dropped on us I traded the Firestorm for a CBR 400RR and some dosh. Wont make the problem go away but makes it a little easier to manage.CBR will be a trackday and a scracha for fun bike.
