    Woot

I've found some carburators. I emailed vic motorcycle wreckers and got a reply.

    "Good Aussie carbs $250

    Kind Regards,

    Keith"

Obviously I can't just buy these in good faith, well I could but that would be stupid. Being a New Zealand site I wouldn't think so but do we have any Aussies members on this site willing to take a looky see?

Acne? This is a request not a pathetic whine about how life is crap and my bike is shite.

But yeah, feel free to vote.

Victoria Motorcycles have a pretty good reputation amongst motorcyclists in this country, and a number here have bought stuff off them.

FWIW, I bought a set of forks from an Australian wrecker and they were exactly as described.

I would still count on having to run some carb cleaner through them as who knows how long they've been sitting though.

What about the rubbers that connect the carbs to the inlet manifold? What condition are yours in? See if you can get them with the rubbers...

The rubber between the carb and the cylinder? I bought new ones a few months back. $220 from Red Baron. Pricey for 4 small pieces of rubber.

What Death said. I'd be pretty surprised it there was anything wrong with them.

What is wrong with your current carbs?
How bad are they? If they've just got a bit of a flatspot and use a bit much fuel, you could possibly try lowering the needles in them (if they're similar to fzx250 carbs).
It would be good if you could get an experienced bike person to have a go on your bike and see how it runs to help evaluate if it would be worth getting the new carbs. It could be that you won't see much of a performance increase.
    Just my thoughts.

Well I get payed next friday, so I've got a week to decide. Erik, my fuel economy is crap, 10k's to a litre so 100k's to the main tank. Several flatspots, you twist the throttle to accelerate away and the bike gurgles to itself before pulling away at two to three different spots in the rev range. It stalls a fair bit too.

    Was that an offer?

I would suggest buying a haynes manual first.

Could be only worn needles or jets.

there's no garantee that those carbs you're ordering are in good condition.

To be honest, you could easily spend what he's paying for these new carbs in just buying new jets and needles, and the problems may still be in the floats, or diaphragms...

Red Baron quoted $700-$1000 from what I told them (economy and flatspots).
