Is it just me or is the standard of reporting around the protest rides starting to pick up?
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Yeah, sorry about that folks... the assembly point was starting to overflow on to the road, and we were getting a bit concerned about safety, so Naki Rat and I made the call to roll out early. And yes, the article in this mornings Daily News wasn't too bad at all.

It's all about spoon feeding the reporters the 'right' information

I stood next the reporter as she interviewed a couple of people, she seemed to genuinely want to understand our concerns over the issue. Good for her and the Daily News.

I don't think the day could have gone any better really, Short of old Nicky turning up and killing the proposals on the spot. I was even given verbal support by a couple of passers by as they weaved in and out of the sea of bikes and a fair bit of thumbs up and tooting from passing cars. Maybe we have got a bit more support in the none biking community than I thought.
    Oh bugger

This "Steve" would have to be the biggest tosser out there.... Obviously can't read for himself. He'd be afraid of his own shadow, I guess. Twas an impressive turnout. Wait til Steve sees the Wellington turnout - he'll shit himself.

The cyclists and sports people get their share of flack but my favourite in terms of entertainment value is Mickey B #46

What a great turn out, and on a work day, the polies need to have a look at the average age of those there, and work out how many have influence over voters. How many of us with adult kids, and employees etc who sympathise with us.... and of course beware of the usual trick, of starting high, and then when the rego is set at $400.00 per year, we all think we have won, but that is what they wanted all along.
    Well done great show.

I received a pack of flyers for the National Bikeoi from Lars, to be distributed wherever bikers are found - bike shops, servos, pubs, wherever. Let me know how many you want, and how to get them to you. I suggest a PM to save cluttering the thread. Now's Good (sorry Clear)

Ride to Wellington - Monday 16th

Now that we have the Naki Bikeoi done and dusted it's time to look forward to the main event in Wellington on the 17th.

I'm planning to make the trip down on the afternoon of the 16th rather than doing the whole trip end to end with the massed ride on parliament in one huge day.
BRONZ have a ride organised for those who prefer to do the Tuesday morning ride leaving 7.00am. There are flyers at Energy Honda and elsewhere with further details on that.

A number of people have been in contact regarding the Monday trip down and a group ride appeals. For those that want to join in I'm intending to leave Egmont Village at 1.00pm so that seems like a good place to kick things off. Plenty of room to gather, fuel up (EFTPOS only available) and we will depart on time this time

It'll be a sedate trip down, for obvious reasons and no doubt we'll pick up a few strays along the way.
    See you then

Ditto. Leave approved for Tuesday, but I'll be leaving later on Monday arvo, staying over in Paraparaumu. Might catch up with you guys on Tuesday somewhere along the route or at parliament.

Taff is giving me some of those flyers to distribute at Hampton Downs this weekend.
