More details of a local would be good also like meeting points times if anyone has plans/ideas maybe something like at The Sound Shell with a ride to Napier and Hastings MPs offices via Motorway or Marine Parade or something similar from hastings in reverse ??

Welcome along. Yes - a local ride is being planned. We want to 'front' at least one of the local MPs, but until I can get confirmation that he/they can be at their office/s, and when...there is no point in announcing that ride.

Good one Steve, on the flyer. I have one in the draft stage that covers both 'events'. As above, I can't release it for use, until MPs are set. If they can't/won't - does anyone have a suggestion on what to do locally instead?

Probably best to go via SH 1...I know its boring but Rimutaka Hill Rd is undergoing roadworks...expect delays....it is probably not the best option!

When are they actually starting on it? I went over Yesterday and the only visible works is a short 50km/h stint where there's no apparent road works.

There are 3 corners on the U/Hutt side that are going to be completely changed. This job is supposed to take a couple of years. The whole hill has been yellow-lined as a start. The actual roadworks 'could' start anytime. The protest is still 2 weeks away. So, unless you know different on the day, best go through the Gorge.
