I am keen to do this.
A tandem with a quad, farmbike and motocross bike would be good and signage to say thats what the public are being motor-vehicle levied for

I thought this was already covered:
    • Off road bikes we cannot prove they are not included in the stats.
    • Farm Bikes are supposedly covered under the work account.

If you really want to get public sympathy then ask if they would intentionally give ACC their holiday pay or give up their well paid job in favour of working 30hours a week at minimum wage.

If the levy has to increase to maintain this type of cover then so be it. BUT it should be done fairly and with respect to the Woodhouse report and the five principles of ACC. The amendment bill currently in progress is failing these big time. Oh and the "final" levies announced last week are still subject to the bill being passed in it's current form, this is still not a certainty.

will have something done on tues, will focus on the woodhouse principals, and what the violation of these will lead to, keep with the whos next theme, maybe somthing about maintaining traction from the bikeoi protest which sent a message to the government, and got the bike levy increase reduced, and the worker levy was also reduced to a quarter of what was proposed....

    sound good? any other thoughts?

meet in the by square 8:30am to get an idea of numbers, then decide which streets to park up on, as there are a number of different streets we can choose between depending on the number of bikes, will be working on the new flyers tonight

hmm.... The Manawatu Standard must have written something about bikes being parked up all over town in the last full week for Christmas Shopping or some such. All the non-bikers from my work (everyone) thinks this is just going to really piss people off and get no sympathy for our cause. I tend to agree. Really bad timing, some people were surprisingly angry at us about considering doing this

you able to get a link to the article? Its wont be all over town, it wont be for long, and its designed to get exposure, not to inconvenience people, we tried being Mr nice bikers, still got unfairly levier, time to step it up a notch.

Yep exposure good I agree. I haven't found the article myself, could be one of the community newspapers, however most of my co-workers were quite supportive of the Bikeoi, but they hate this idea

A maximum of 158 strategic carparks for 2 hours is hardly going to cause a major inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. It will however cause one hell of a visual impact and perhaps open a few eyes!

which 158 strategic carparks? Maybe I am a pussy but the whole idea is to get the public on our side, and I don't think this is doing us any favours at all. Anything that inconveniences the cage drivers at this time of year will
sure be noticed but not in our favour
