We should leave it till January. It will still get noticed, but will get a lot more support from the general population

I'm trying to decide if that is sarcastic or not. Sunday Good for you then with your political statement! I will be riding my bike somewhere in rural Hawkes Bay having a rark up. One of us will be having the better time, and my bike only has my riding to worry about to get her home safe & sound. I arn't gonna piss off Palmy people with our cause at this time of year, as I firmly believe it works against us. So you guys go protest all you like, and don't give a stuff about the bigger picture. You should listen to some of us oldies that have done this crap before.

    Couple of pointers:

Depending how long this parking thing goes for, I suggest you avoid Broadway Ave altogether.

    Anywhere else is fine.

I'm kinda in a awkward position for this particular action, as I'm the guy who fixes the parking meters!
I'll be cheering you on quietly

Its been mentioned before, but be prepared for abuse. Christmas ISN'T a time of giving (thanks retail wanker stores!), its a time for stress

I'll be leaving my leathers on!

pegasus has suggested adding a couple of websites to the flyer, so will get on to that tonight, any suggestions on what the best websites are?

I don't have time to read it all now (short staffed at work today, co-worker away sick), but the woodhouse principles looks good.

    Good but...

Is it worth changeing the bike pic to a silouette of some people like this
    http://clipartmountain.com/clip5/people3.gif or http://icuchange.com/wp-content/uplo...rt-300x295.jpg

This nix myth quote summs up how they intend to shaft claimants. useful to bear in mind.
"Initiatives underway this year covering physiotherapy, high-tech imaging, hearing, self-harm, rehabilitation, criminal disentitlements, and tighter income compensation will save more than $100 million per year and ensure the burden of fixing ACC does not just fall on levy payers.
ACC Is targeting ALL NZ but especially those who have had an accident.
ACC can make you take a job on min wage even if you were on $100k/year.

The government is trying to sell off ACC. They did not raise the petrol levy because it does not fit with the insurance company model. Instead they chose hike vehicle levies a lot. Making the vehicle levy less affordable, this will make it more expensive for those who still pay it.

The Woodhouse principles area seems to merge in to its self, lots of text...
perhaps tie them in to parts of the Ammendment act that contravene them. (i've a few linked in my oral submission notes)

How about changing what can We do to what can YOU do?
And include: Contact your MP and ask them not to support the act. (with local mp name, phone and email)

It's unjustified section could probably do with some shoring up, or probably combining with the it's happened section to really show the people on the street it is effecting them, and their kids (loss of legacy).

Will mull it over on way home....

I agree. I've seen many people refer to this ACC issue as a 'fight' or a 'war'. tell me..

Has anyone here seen a war that doesn't at least inconvenience someone in some way?

Has anyone seen a fight without at least someone being pissed off for some reason?

Now I want to avoid pissing people off just as much as anyone else here. But there's no way to solve something like this without some unwanted side effects. Let's be honest here, just the fact that we get around on two wheels instead of four is enough to piss some people off. shit happens. I'll be there saturday morning.

Did think of changing the graphic, but I think we need a bigger discussion group if we want to move to a new slogan/graphic so I left it as is. And as its still bikers doing the protesting I think the old one works.

Thanks for your input, I did wonder about the woodhouse principals part, but theres not a lot more I can take out of that section, I'm unfamiliar with the parts of the amendment act that tie in with them, if you wanna write the text for it I'd be happy to c&p it in there, same goes for any other changes

Awesome work guys, unfortunately I can not make it, but really hope a good number of bikes do make it .. there are a few from down this way coming up for it

Yes it will put a few ppl out for two hours by 11am bikes will be gone but point will be made and hopefully a few ppl have their eyes opened that this is serious and affects them as well

most non bikers I have talked to & the elderly at the RSA do not mind a bit of inconvenience to keep the message going, esp now they realise how much the changes in ACC will actually affect them personally ... This will not be settled quickly, make no mistake about that

Palmy by 8.30 Mmmm should still get to Manfield by 11.30 in time for race 1 I guess !
    Can my sign please read

    J Key : Ex Insurance Man ?
ACC : Soon to be owned by the Insurance Man ?
Your wallet : Owned by the Insurance Man ?
    Do you want this ?
    I don't !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !
