    Where did the $2700 figure come from?

    Nick Smith and Don Key today have been saying the actual fee for large bikes should be $2700.

    Where does that number come from????

    Their "True relativities"
    0-125 416% => $1,282.93 (Total Levy based on True Relativity)
    126-600 825% => $2,534.57
    601+ 1,222% => $3,770.56
    Page 29 of the "Levy rates for motorists - Levy consultation 2010/11 PDF", bottom of page 3 of the Key Points for Motorists document (under cross subisidisation of motorcycles...)
    Both docs here: http://www.acc.co.nz/for-business/le...2011/index.htm

    They're trying the angle of saying its already cheap... yeah right.

    This is just "phasing in" the levy. They will be increasing it until they get the $3770+.

    From that document I gather that they expect motorcyclists to cost $252 million dollars in 2010/2011?
    Do I read that correctly? If so where do they get that figure from?
    This document claims we cost only $62 million in the year 2007/2008:
    http://www.acc.co.nz/about-acc/statistics/acc-injury-statistics-2008/8-motor-vehicle-account/is0800143
    So where does this massive increase come from?

    If the average accident on 600+ costs 37hundy and they are asking 650 then they are claiming that almost 20% of us fall off every year.
    If they say we need to pay 27hundy then that means 65% fall off every year.
    What kind of stat is that.ACC owes me 15 accidents already.Who the f..k keeps falling off all the time?If its you take up rugby please.

    Or am I just a dumb arse and is this the average cost % per rider.WTF
    Again those who come off all the time go play rugby.

    The way things are going we will get a free bike with every rego.
    If we get into debt a bailif will seize our rego and not the bike because the bikes a liability not asset and the rego is gold.
