Yeah, if some fucker knocks over my bike that i have atm, i would go ape shit at them!!! Even though i have dropped it numerous times and is only worth just over a grand.

But if someone knocked over my $20000+ (how much is a MV worth) bike i would not be happy.

You people have too much paitence and self control

Try about $35000 dude. Check it out on bikepoint. Now you know why BB would've been feeling bad... even though anyone who owns an MV is obviously a rich cunt with far too much spare cash

(hey, BB, you could always have bought *another* MV, chucked it in the garage and used it for parts! Save the shipping wait...)

I don't consider myself a rich cunt. Buying a $36k bike may seem extreme but would you call everyone owning a $36k car a rich cunt as well ?? I just decided to spend my hard earned money where I'd enjoy it the most.

$36K is *still* less than the sticker price on just about any big-twin Harley, a Goldwing or a BMW tourer, etc. So you're right on that one. Hell, I'd go in hock for an MV myself if my priorites weren't elsewhere at the moment (sigh)

And I'll call *anyone* a cunt, if I'm drunk enough

Well, buy a _cheap_ Harley for say $30k and then how much for add-ons to make as good as any other bike ?? I know some Harleys go for over $40k, the v-rod I think was closer to $50k.

Goldwings start at $48k new. Granted BMW's are cheaper but they aren't in the same league.

I suppose what I was getting at is that a reasonable number of people could afford an MV, but most put house/car/holiday in front of it.

I know economic sense says buy a cbr/gsxr/zxr/r1 but sometimes emotion overrides commonsense.

But then again I can be a right cunt when I want to

I guess you aren't a rich C&T if you buy a new MV, Matt.

However, if you trade it in on a new one each year for the next few years people may start to talk

In all seriousness, I applaud your good taste but I'm bloody jealous...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

I can't imagine trading up to a later model. MV have decided that the basic design is a classic. The new 1000cc F4 looks the same as mine just a couple of different decals and colour options.

Besides I've done 35,000k's in the two years that I've had it so I doubt the trade-in value would be that great. Probably only enough for a new R1 for me and say a FXR150 for each of my 3 boys (Sorry jrandom I couldn't resist )

One thing that does piss me off is the assumption that if someone has something expensive then they are a "rich cunt".

You don't know what Matt or I do for a living, how hard we work, or what sacrifices were made to buy these bikes. Perhaps we forwent drinking with mates, holidays, took on two jobs, never went out etc.

Perhaps we saved every spare cent we had for years. Does that make us rich cunts because we achieved a goal others are to selfish to delay immediate pleasure in orderv to obtain.

I don't go around calling every one with a less expensive bike a cheap bastard because they didn't spend as much as me. I invested in an education so I could earn enough money to achieve some of my goals in life.

If you have different choices, priorities or responsibilities it is not my fault.

Not that I intend to (or not yet anyway) but if I go on the dole I could have a pretty sweet life as far biker bum goes. I own a bike that owes me around $3k.

The thing with 250's is that they are soo cheap to run. eg it cost me $15 to go from the North Shore up to Whakapapa.

So being a future temp dole bludger, I could have a pretty sweet life clocking up the miles courtesy of taxes from people who work.

Anybody care to join me on my quest to live the life of a biker bum!

Well, don't be pissed off, I *don't* think you're a 'rich cunt'. And even if you were you'd be excused for your good taste in bikes.
