gijoe1313's first venture into video logging!

Well as the premise of marriage has loomed over my head, I decided to sell off a few valuables for the dreaded band of doom, and with that, gijoe1313 is the proud owner of my (regrettably) VIO POV 1.5 mega package.

He took his sweet time to record anything on it but came to me yesterday with some footage, not bad for a first timer, angle and sound could be managed a bit better but I give him props for doing it!

So, I have uploaded segments of the first part of his trip on my youtube channel if you all want to see, although the camera is pointing down a bit (and youtube's going through "maintenance" at the moment), it's not a bad run, good scenery around the back roads of Papakura/Clevedon!

More to come as I find the energy to slice it up into somewhat-watchable segments I apologise for the poor editing, I'm that lazy.

I don't know why he is talking like every sentence is a statement, maybe he's thinking of safer communities together?

That's some quality footage. Wouldn't mind one of those, but holy heck they are expensive.

He had it angled down slightly, so when he went at open road speed and ducked down a bit, it pointed more at the road than at the scenery, there are other vids on the same link from me using the same setup. It is quite possibly the top of the top of helmet cameras, once I have the funds I'll be getting another one without a doubt!

I also think he was wearing his balaclava so he sounds kinda muffled.

Here's what it looks like if you take time to set it up (eh, gijoe? :P)
There's quite a lot of us who have been doing this for a few years (previously on a different video site), so it's not really interesting to fellow NZ'ers but my overseas mates always like to see random stuff that I video.

^ that also has a cameo from Richard Mc F :P

Awesome - Justin just keeps adding to his legendness! "Nana nana nana ....." (must be said in sing-song fashion hehehehe)

Good on you Matt for choosing him as the worthy recipient; I'm sure he'll have lots and lots of fun.

I really enjoyed that, thanks for posting it up. An insight into the mind of a legend.

I have to confess to being a little disappointed with GI's voice over, as an avid reader of his epic yarns and singular writing style, I was fully expecting him to talk like a drunken Cornish pasty pirate
    Oh bugger

You better watch out for what you wish for Trying to talk and ride is like ... two things at once!

Rest assured, I shall be practising variegated forms of delivery and heaven forbid that I not inject my usual lively sense of depreciated musings upon one and all

Hmmm .... what have I let myself in for?

    I love it!

He begins the ride: "Wonder if the bloody microphone's working. Ah well. Let's get these tires warmed up." Then continues to mutter on to himself, irrespective of whether any of it is being recorded. Classic GI!

This could be the beginning of much awesomeness.
