The topic of who is subsiding who in transport.
The roading network pays its own way.
Road users will pay thru road user charges and petrol $ 8.7 billion over the next 3 years.
The operating cost ( not new stuff) is $ 5.2 billion over the same period.

As someone pointed out in the ACC debate ACC is really just the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff.

Mr Joyce, perhaps if more money was spent on better quality roads the amount of 'accidents' might be reduced.

I have ridden/driven a lot on European roads and I have to say our roads are pretty poor.

By the way, Stephen Joyce has a degree in Zoology....and ran radio stations....
