Sportmax D205 opinion

Hi. Any of you people have any experience with Dunlop SportMax D205 tyres?

My bike shop put a new one on my bike when I picked it up, I was expecting a Battlax B-10 but they put this one on instead. 160/60/18, IIRC. It says Touring on the side and will apparently suit my commuting better than the B-10.

I've read a review on the net that says these tyres lose their grip long before their tread wears down and that they could be dangerous in the wet because of this.

Can anyone offer an opinion on this or back up this claim? Have any of you used one of these tyres?

I'm riding my FZR 80kms a day UH to Welly, and if this tyre is going to cause me a problem before its worn I'd rather find out now, than when I end up on the deck. Cheers.

MATE,take it back an demand what you were supossed to get.
Them things are shit an the shop knows it.They are just trying to
pawn it off on an unsuspecting up an coming victim.

don't believe everything you read on the net. someone's experiences are different to yours including conditions, usage, skill etc. They are a mass produced tyre fitted to thousand of bikes and being a dunlop they will be reasonable quality. what concerns me is that You have a touring tyre on a sports bike. fine if you ride it like a nana. when you have no confidence in your tyres it sucks. try get them to put on something you trust or take it easy.

Given that accidents usually happen in your head before they do on the road - the last thing you want to do is tear in to a corner too quick and have second thoughts about the grip of the tyre and not lean it further.

There are only two things keeping you upright on a bike - your head and your tyres - if you tyre is subpar or you think it is- you are in trouble.

If you have doubts - change 'm.
