I agree with BJ that there will always be good 400's around, and cheap compared to OK 250's, be patient, in 9 months you will be able to buy a newer bike for the same price!?!
Quit talking down the mighty 'ZZR's please guys!! the fact that they are 2cyl means they are a great bike for riding through traffic as they pull from idle, and they have plenty of pull through to 170!!!
weighing in at 138kg they are one of the lighter 250's (around 5kg can then be saved by fitting a 2-1 pipe), relusting in a whole lot of fun in the twisties! although I've yet to test my skills against another 250 (yes zxr250 skinned me on Takas, I'd only been riding for 3 weeks then..
.) I have not had any issues keeping up with bigger bikes on the rides I have attended. so I dont feel any need for more power till I can get my knee donw on ANY corner I WANT to get some sparks from!!
ZZR's with a little incouragment will easily, wheelie and stoppie (with and without pillion), and scrape the pegs (or pipe ) before any unplesant charecteristics show!!
That said I do like the idea of trying a few different 250's so I know what to look for when I start test riding bigger bikes. just the pillion doesn't like the idea of being perched way above me on the back of something RR
