    Thanks but I am right.

We have 5 riders coming from Central Otago (3 from Alexandra and 2 from Tarras). Considereing Tarras has a total population of less than 100 that's a pretty good percentage.

So on that basis I expect to see around 3000 riders from Auckland alone.

That gives us plenty of time to get to Picton for the afternoon ferry.
Are you guys still meeting at the Shell in Belfast at 8am Monday? if so I meet you there

Yes, that is the plan. Looks like 5 from Central otago and a couple (maybe more) from Dunedin. As we have to be in Picton at midday we need to be fueled and ready to go by 8:00 am.

I'll be at the Shell station at 8am. I'm riding up from Dunedin with FlyingCroc on Sunday.

I'm on the 2pm Bluebridge Ferry so I'm going to take the scenic route. Turn off at Waipara, stop at Waikari to have a cup of tea with my parental units and then head up to Kaikoura via Culverden and Waiau using the inland road. Its a great road and I can thoroughly recommend it.

The other option is to turn right at Waiau and use the Leader Road to just North of Parnassus. The Leader is a fantastic motorcycle road and if you go that way, you still get to ride the Hunderlees and the coast south of Kaikoura.

Yup, you're correct but if it takes me 5 hours to get from Christchurch to Picton I'll just have to sign up as a slow old bastard ;-)

Stan, I gotta be there by 12:40 to catch the InterIslander. If the ride is way better and I can still make my Ferry on time I'll have a look at it.

Have you got a bed sorted in CHch? If not, you are welcome to one of the spare beds in the Unit I've booked at the Abbey Motor Lodge.

I'm pretty sure you'll have enough time. I'll talk to you about it tomorrow. I've got a bed thanks, staying with friends in CHCH and Wellington.

Just seen Stan and FlyingCroc off a few minutes ago - just as the crap weather hit. Hopefully they'll outrun it as they head north.

Have a good run through everyone. I look forward to seeing you all on the news in Wellington.

Thanks Virago. We didn't miss the bloody hail. Stopped after 4Km to put on the wets

Got better as we headed north but still got a bit of rain up to Timaru. Very nice in Christchurch though, especially after a couple of Steinlagers ;-)

Thanks for coming to see us off Ken. Nice to put a face to all those infractions I've collected

I'm considering getting a tow ball fitted to Baz so he can tow his own mini tanker. The greedy bugger is drinking a litre every 12.5 km and we had to bunny hop between gas stations.. Sorry Stan

Have adjusted the gear lever and rear brake so I can use them. They were set up for a gonedurn dewarf. And I managed to butcher and wire on my finely engineered plastic pencil case brackets for the Buel Cyclone screen that I had chucked in my bag for a bit of wind protection.

    Looks like sunshine for tomorrow

Yeah mate! All good. No breakdowns, just ate a little oil and a lot of petrol. Had a shit of a ride back from Wgtn Yesterday... Rain, heavier rain, more rain and dud wet weather gear...

Tuesday was Massive. Gunna have to keep the momentum going though. Don't want them turning ACC into a cash cow with a legislated income so they can sell it as an insurance company. Can't believe they aren't taking us seriously.

Nice to have caught up with you. Thanks for your company. How was your cuppa with your 'parental units'?

Yes, it was pretty awful in Wellington on Wednesday morning. Lucky for me I was heading south and only got a bit of rain through the Hunderlees and a couple of showers when I got in to Christchurch.

It was nice to catch up with the folks and the ride up through the inland road to Kaikoura was great. Fantastic road and no traffic except for camper vans coming the other way.
