How much would be raised if there was an ACC levy on all traffic infringements??? (except partking)

Yep, I'll vote with my wallet, moths would fly out as I've not contributed for 15 years.
Boy Racers can add that to their growing tab.

Well in the eyes of the law (technically speaking) you are endangering others on the road so you get the fine and ACC levy wacked on top as well... the ACC levy doesn't have to be much even $20 or a percentage and if caught drunk driving you get a bigger levy impossed upon you.

It would raise millions, also my other thought would be the an ACC levy (say $%) on all W.O.Fs as well

    • Flat fee on WOF's (say $5 or $10) on all warrantable vehicles and trailers.

ie 2,919,151 vehicles (again not not counting trucks or the extra above etc and assuming that all these are once a year, but there will be a good percentage that are every 6 months.) 2,919,151 x $5 = $14,595,755 or $29,191,510 if it was $10

Yeah but either way we bite the bullet.
You would be amazed at the figures regarding ACC claims from people falling off ladders, cutting themselves etc
I still reckon a 1% addition on top of GST would cover the whole ACC campaign with ease. And best of all I probably would hardly notice.
That way it covers everything from petrol users, home handymen, to women who shove makeup in their eyes.

1.7b in total claims, 270m car and motorcycle they seem to be wanting more money for the road claims so these are some options you get caught speeding you pay the extra levy, you don't you don't pay any extra...

Either way we all are going to have to pay more into ACC if we want it to fully funded. the above are just ideas...
