    Revenge of the Plastic Bag!

On my way home over the motorway tonight I ran over a plastic bag. Less than 100metres up the road my bike came to a grinding halt right in the middle of the fast lane. Like any good racer I instantly rose my hand which may have got the attention of the guy behind me who stopped with about 30cm's to spare. I actually think it was the handstand that I was pulling while trying to stay on the bike hat really got his attention...

After checking the bike over I noticed that the plastic bag had tightly wrapped itself around my sprocket and chain. Once I removed the bag the bike seemed to go fine and I got home in one peice.

Let this serve as a warning to all!

we had a gentleman do that with his badly stowed plastic wet weather trousers - sadly the result added to ACC's stats

I would strongly recommend avoiding any plastic bag (assuming you can) that blows across your path

They can be bloody slippery too. But don't ask me about that.

I was also attacked with a bit of cardboard that wrapped itself around my leg this morning.

    It must be a conspiracy!!!

Well I dont really call that last incident a bin more like an 'Attack of the Cager' incident. Namely a Hit and Run.

Anything I can do to raise your ACC levies!

    Nice save :

Reminds me of when I was a teenager riding along on one wheel. Up ahead I saw a drink can and thought if I could smash it with the front it would demonstrate my awesomeness. I lined it up and hit it perfectly. My self adulation was over in about half a second when I suddenly found my self on the gound in a heap wondering wtf had just happened. Turned out the can, which btw was casually minding it's business, took umbridge to my rough treatment. I'd hit it so squarely that the ends clamped onto the front tyre. One half revolution later it was jammed in the forks and I was destined to make close acquaintance with Mr Tarmac

Lesson learnt: Don't assume that just because the other dude's smaller than you that he won't turn around and kick your arse. Steer clear of loitering cans...and shopping bags!

Well I tirelessly walked the streets of Wellington looking for a white hatch back that hit me. Unfortunately the real one would not stand up!

So that would be a no....

That's the whole thing; you shouldn't ride on the path. Duh.
