I've never paid any more than $350 for a helmet in the past so today I went out and spent nearly twice that much on a new Shoei Raid II, also shelling out for an additional tinted visor. I was seriously looking at the Z-One graphics range (AMPS had the best prices in the world but sold out mighty quick) but there were none my size available and the replica graphics were too extreme for me anyway, eg. skull & crossbones and scaring killer creatures with big sharp teeth lunging out at you - this is the fashion of this world! I was in the market for a more 'conservative' graphic and I found one that fit me just right in the Obelisk design (see attachments).
At 1400g the helmet feels heaps lighter on my head, it's a great feeling. I was surprised how much difference 100 grams makes in comparison to my HJC CL-14 1500g lid. The ventilation system is a great improvement too because I can actually tell the difference & feel the wind when the chin and forehead vents are opened!![]()
Mr RIB, now that I have this new helmet I can no longer be mistaken for the RiderInBlack because the truth is - "there can be only one!"![]()
