    LOL the haters....

You wait, electric technology is going to leap forwards massive amount in the next few years. Demand is there and I think that you will see the die hard petrol heads and then you will see a migration to electric.

With long races like a GNCC etc, you would probably have a battery swap out. The likes of the zero will run for 2 hours I think. My thoughts on a good set up would be a group of batteries under the seat. So say your bike runs on 56v, you have 4 56v batteries, so if you are doing a short race, you use only 3 batteries, long race use 4.

could get rid of the chain noise by useing an enclosed belt drive

the thing I don't get is why do they all have to be so ugly

If I had the luxury of room for an xtra battery I'd take xtra Volts and squeeze more outa my motor.

i agree with everyone that says that electric bikes are GAY! as people have been saying, they need to look like desent bikes instead of how ugly they look now and they need the noise ect that real moto-cross bikes have. the only advantages i can see in those electric things is that they are light, and save on fuel money......(but you will have to buy batteries anyway). i just cant picture moto-cross races with the sounds of rattling chains and no other noises!

How do you decide which capacity class an electric bike will race in if you wanted to run it against petrol powered bikes?

Probably the way they do it in most motor racing using high amounts of technology and Calculations LOL!!! NOT!
    Same old rule Kickaha,
If it wins to much restrict it or weigh it down, if it doesn't leave it alone!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

They are not that Eco friendly, what the F**K do you do with the spent battery's? land fill.

Oh yeh, charging the battery's, just another charger plugged into the power socket at home.

    Transpower
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

Lithium batteries are recycled so is lead acid batteries (although lead acid is normally made into ammo....) Nickel metal ones were an issue, but everyone is now going to LiFe Lithium lead

Also the battery charger isn't as draining as you think and it cheaper than petrol.

Cant see me riding one, but there is some really cool kids ones around, I was watching two four year olds riding a couple from OSET and they were going really well, a great way for the kids to learn to ride and dead quiet, I'm going to get my little girl one for xmas.
