    Haha WT thats what he meant LOL!! His "they forgot the kickstart lever haha" comment means E-start only not both!
    Means if you get a flat battery out in the bush, there's no back up your stuffed.
    There's usually to much compression to crash start them and if your in a gully you can't anyway.
    Not that the above aplllies to a bike designed specifically for MX if it is!
    Sorry mate off road talk there!!

    It looks good I've always like the linkage on the Hondas etc more maintenance though?
    Looks like they've decided after all the testing with the Husaberg 350 you get more traction and go forward out of the 350 engine.
    Can't see it saving to much weight unless they can make the frame etc lighter because of the slightly less horse power.
    On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

    Linkage kits are only for the new KTM MX bikes

    Enduro models stay the same.

    Oh ok cheers you know more than me then! You never know about the future though?
    Interesting they haven't gone for that forward facing piston/engine like on the Husaberg.

    I'm a 2 smoke man anyway I'm well happy with my 200exc if I went up it would be the 300 exc??

    Yeah have been doing a bit of research, talked to afew KTM gurus around the place. I'm stoked that the enduro models arnt going Linkage. Isnt cheap doing the linkages... But for all I know, KTM might start chucking them on the enduro models. No idea really.

    Yeh it is interesting about the Husaberg thing, considering that a Husaberg is practically a KTM, they're infact made in the same factory. You'll find that some of the parts on a Berg have the KTM logo on them =P

    If you upgraded you're 200, I would definatly consider the 250EXC. I'm 95KG and wont be going for a 300 next time I upgrade. They dont handel as good, and plus my 250 has a huge amount of power, plenty for me.

    I think you'd find the same even with the 200!

    My original decision was 2 smoker only in the 200 with the 125 size frame or the 300 with the 250/300 size frame. So the 250 was out of the equation for me. I picked the 200 cause it had the 125 size frame with the low power and torque of the bigger engine! There was a 14 bike test that swayed me to the smaller bike. I've posted it more than once here and its well commented on so I won't go over it again! (I have a PDF if you pm me your email)

    I am trying to upgrade now, the 10 300 exc six days is not available but there is the 250exc six days but without the estart. If I can get a deal on the estart kit with it I may consider it or the other option is getting the standard 300. I think the 250 would have more than enough power for me but the question is how is it compared to the 300 down low and how usable is the power between the two? What is the difference in the handling between the two? is it just the extra couple of Kg's or more significant?

    I've ridden both the 250 & the 300. The 250 is a more managable bike, you dont really need all the power of a 300. It has plenty of power down low, very useable. The 300 is obviously a more powerful bike, so its going to be harder to control than the 250. I've ridden all over the show with my 250, wires/neavsville, regurly ride at woodhill in the really tight tracks. Best bike ! Have a search on the net about the handeling between the 250/300. Quite abit of talk on that topic.

    300EXC = 103.1KG
    250EXC = 100.8KG

    If I was you, id be trying to find a 2009 250EXC-E standard. Best value for money. Rather than buying a $14,500 Sixdays without the E-starter. Not really worth it imo. Best price you're going to get for an e-start is around $1000. $15,500 for a dirt bike? Not keen.

    Yeh just imagine what ktm is going to want for a linkage bearing kit $$$$$$$$
    I would guess nearly as much as any new yamaha part ....
    Except that it will be made better and from superior materials ....

    K6 theres a 6 days 250 09 in wellytown for sale ...
    I tried to get him to budge on his price but got a reply something like "theres 2 in the country and I own both of them so im not moving on my price" .....
    Might still have one ...
    I think hes optimistic with that price but others might not, could be a compromise for you ??

    Cheers I have looked at that but one but I think I'll most likely just go for the standard exc. Still leaning towards the 300 over the 250 I think but I haven't decided yet.

    with all this superior enginering I would like to hope they would chose to use bearings and seals of a standard rearily available size rather than a ktm specific one I'm probably dreaming thoughpersonaly

    i'm happy with my linkageless rear end two points to grease never bottoms out in fact I never even think about the rear susp which is telling me its doing its job
