STOLEN DRZ400SM, west Aucks

Mate came home from work to find his bike stolen today from the Glen Eden area.

It's a 2007, black DRZ400SM, rego 70YWG.

Apparently they made a mess stealing it, looks like the hit a post driving off, breaking a smoked light cluster, possibly breaking a off white colour spoiler. There was also thin glass from maybe a side window of a van in the driveway.

Any info would be great as un-insured, pm details.

Sounds like the west auckland white van bike thieves strike again, was the smashed glass tinted? sounds like a very quick getaway attempt maybe a neighbour heard / disturbed them...

I'd suspect a white hiace though, no bull bars.

if he was insured an investigator would be appointed to check with all the nearby neighbours to see if they heard/saw anything, his job also involves keeping on the cops' tails so it doesn't get forgotten

other tacks that improve the chances of a recovery are putting a notice in the local rag (or on lamp poles) offering a reward for info that leads to a recovery

your last hope is the cops trip over it when raiding a p-lab or something

There was a bit of the light cluster left which came back as off a Honda civic, or accord. The light also had tights or similar material to make them look smoked.


The broken glass on the driveway was clear, and all we can think is that they may have put one of the side windows through in the attempt.

Seems real strange though as they smashed the car, and guessing that they were trying to load it into the car (station wagon??). there was skid marks all over the gravel drive, and a pitbull going off. Sounds like Kids, not the pros.

Anyone see any one hanging around out west with a possible cream Honda Accord/civic with a broken dark light cluster, and broken side window. Pm me the details

sounds like it was a car as you say cause with a van its not that hard to chuck it in without damage. and if its a honda with smoked lights and a spoiler id say it is kids. look out for parts too, but then again if its a kid its probably for a joy ride/ toy
