Yep, 2 right tank guards, the dealer is getting that sorted for me.

Plus bar risers, longer bolts to fit the guards, a 950smt brake reservior clamp to move the mirror off it's standard mount and a few replacement bolts for ones that have seen a bit of weather.

today i fitted a dirt guard to the under side of the front frame, just behind the goose neck, its design is to stop mud and crap getting up in the relays and fuse box,

well what a mission that was, disassemble front of bike, all front fearing both tanks off, had to unbolt the radiator and lower it out the way to fit the cover..
heres hoping it will do the trick..

thanks eddie for ordering it with his box of goodies from KTM world.

They stop heaps of crap getting in there, I found if you undo the bolts on the radiator and the oil tank it goes in easier but still a bitch to do.

My 950 came with a high and low fender.
I thought it looked odd, and took it off, but then discovered it was stopping all that crap...

Your bike should have it as standard as it was a factory fitted part on '05 bikes on, but our 04's didn't get it. It's a plastic triangle that clips onto the underside of the frame right behind the steering stem. If you look from underneath then up above the radiator it fills the triangular section of frame from the steering stem back to the radiator. I got one too but forgot to include in in my pic.

Yep thats it. Cost about $8NZ via your local KTM dealer, took 3 weeks shipping along with the other bits from the motherland. For some reason I thought your bike was an '05.

You could probably cable tie a bit of plastic ice cream container in there for a fraction of the cost and you get to enjoy the icecream while making it.

Mmmm ice cream. I should probably take the tanks off and give it a bloody good clean one day and zip tie a bit of plastic on.

Got a query re tyres for the 990 there fella's. Stock size is 150/70/ 18 . So I understand a 140 will fit ok. How will this change handling etc etc with the bike. Am bit of a noob with this stuff. I prefer to wear the bloody tyres out instead.
    Cheers

Unless you are used to acute lean angles you most likely will not notice any change in performance using a 140 over a 150 tire on the 990. The stock scorps (150/70/18) are a good tire but if you want more aggressive off road you will see KTM reccomend the TKC 80 which is a 140 road legal knobby.

There is not a huge choice of tire for the 18" rim and even less if you are looking for 150 width, but most folks are happy enough with the 140...although you can get a 150 TKC 80 but it is a bit pricey!!
