Not what they said in u s a at the time and more likely indicative of our kiwi tall poppy syndrim than actual reality, having said that sort of know what you mean but over time have grown to love Kattie and her quirky looks

I'm not a Kiwi and I don't care what the Septics think.

The combination of the suspension, 21", seating pos, fancy ABS and fancy traction control, lets an "average" skilled rider like me have fun.
My fear is I might try,

Have only heard praise from anyone who have ridden them so far, so may park one in the garage in a few years if I think self control is up to it

If your not far from me come join us for a ride some time.

Shux, just got back from a 14hr 550k stint in something similar at the Coramandel, was great fun and didn't crash but still doubt I will even be able to look at a motorcycle for at least another week

    Selling my 990

Sadly im selling my 2007 990 adventure , 27000km, givi pannier system, neptune exhausts plus originals, black dog bash plate, tck80 tyres. Full service history from afc and red Baron. Full service just completed from redbaron 200km ago. Good Tires. Good condition all round. Because I am in need of a daily runner now I may be keen on a smaller size adventure bike of some description ie. KTM 690, Dr650.
    PM if interested.

    suspension

Hi guys. I'm thinking about raising my standard 2008 ktm 990 adv to S model height.
Ideally I'd like to trade my standard suspension with someone looking to lower their adventure S. Is there anyone out there keen on such a swap?

Failing that what do you guys think would be the best way of going about it bearing in mind that I'm a tightarse!
I'm not fat, i'm pregnant with icecreams baby.

Buy some platform shoes, 70's style, that'll work for a tight arse...
At least you will be further from the ground when you park it, right?

Out of interest why are you wanting to do these mods, and I'm presuming you 6 foot something tall

PS, perhaps we can help you save some money by talking you out of it

haha, yeah I'm pretty tall. actually i'm quite a big guy. 6ft 4 and 140 kgs. I want the longer travel as I'm starting to push the bike a bit harder off road, I'm far form an expert or anything like that but I'm really enjoying the bike and its capabilities.
I really should be sensible and just put heavier springs in the forks etc, but I like the idea of the extra travel as I've bottomed it out going relatively slowly. I'm flat footed when parked on it so the extra height doesn't scare me - yet haha
