Hmm, I remember in 1983 I got 90 mpg once when running in my new 750 twin Kawasaki. Only the once mind you I'd regularly get 55-60 out of it without trying.

The Hornet 900 will see 50 on a legalish cruise, wick it up a bit and down she goes.

90 on the 800 Suzuki? Must have a skilled throttle hand - usually the big twins are a bit thirsty.

I'm still laughing at Chooky taking a CBX on an economy run..... that's a bit like those guys who took that HSV Maloo on the (sponsor deleted 'cause they hate bikes) Energywise run a while back.

Still smarting over Bathurst are ya?

...or, have you just had yet another recall notice in the mail from your local Ford dealer?

Thats pretty good economy though, as the US gallon is 10% smaller than ours. My ER6F regularly gets 65mpg.. I'm sure I could nurse it up to 80.

It revs pretty hard at normal highway speeds, nice for overtaking as it has plenty of brmmm, but it could be geared down substantially and get even better results I would think.

I think I got around 65-70 MPG from my old spada on a spirited ride after I jetted it. Can't recall what they do standard. The BROS650 was terrible on gas, would manage 135km on 9 liters [when it hit reserve] That was a bit too much really.

Apparantly this is the norm on the nc30..

A fair test would be if I rode it.

I got 31km/l once on my Suzuki NZ-250 going from Picton to Christchurch. Works out to roughly 83mpg.
Not too bad considering it was laden with luggage and had a headwind some of the way involving severe throttling to maintain 100km/h !!
