    Akaroa today (24 Oct)

Went over to Akaroa today with the usual crowd, no wind, no gravel on road, no lake flies, lots of bikes and bikers at Bully Hayes (no I don't work for them) quite good to see a lot of women bikers there just kicking back and having few laughs, it really doesn't get any better, no one seemed to be in a hurry or doing anything silly, people in Akaroa seemed to enjoy looking at all the bikes parked up, as did I, Highlights were seeing an Aprillia RSV4 making it's way there and a guy wearing racing leathers on what looked like a 2 stroke 125 or similar, good on him!

I was in Akaroa yesterday at the fish and chip shop. Suddenly it was swamped with Harleys. As I was on holiday, I was caged up but I can see why you Canterbury riders love the road out to there. Need to bring the Duke next time so I can show you how its done LOL.

Next to the fish and chip shop, there's a courtyard out the back that's virtually all under shade with lots of seating.

I must say that road is best on a v-twin, leave it in 2nd and you won't need to touch the brakes

Touche, but avoid fish and chips in Akaroa, overpriced, greasy ...and a bad experience overall.

    Good ride though !

Similar today - I did a run to the hilltop - just a wee cruise. I was warned by plenty of cars of the speed camera in the black van just out of Taitapu - bet he was doing a roaring trade.
All the bikes I saw were pretty much riding like me - just a cruise and all well behaved.

I've got to say any bike up that hill, single, twin, triple, four or a six sound cool

You'd think being a harbour town with plently of fishing boats that Akaroa would have the best fish. Unfortunately not so.

Go to Bully's, more expensive but I've never had a bad meal there yet myself.
