    tacho question - 4stroke single

    hi.
i'm gonna look like as tard here - but what the hell....
i need a tach for my little vanvan. for those of you unfamiliar with the mighty RV200 VanVan - it's a 200cc 4 stroke single, actually a DR200 trailbike motor.
i saw a Scitsu Tacho for a RGV250 on trademe, but can't find any info re it being switchable for engine type .
the scitsu site talks about them on old british 4stroke twins a lot.
can anyone enlighten me as to whether it may be suitable for my VanVan?
alternatively, does anyone have a nice small suitable tach they want to sell cheaply?

    ken

Just out of curiosity, why do you want a tacho?
The way that engine would be tuned, the power would have tailed off long before you'll do any damage to it.....

    why a tach?

because i want to tune it a little, exhaust, flatslide, headwork and maybe ignition. i want to dyno tune it and know where it's HP and torque peaks are.
i know it sounds a little silly.

That was the old 70's 2smokers. Had tyres that could almost float the bike on water
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Man the asians even look small on this bike, 180mm rear

A tacho would be abit of a mission to fit on it if you ask me :/ I'm sure there is a 3rd party that would do it those VanVans are pretty popular

It is rather large for its size though?... I dunno - all I can make out on that site is 'Big Boy' and ameny a things I associate with that phrase so I will carry on and go wreck someone elses thread.

You can get electronic rev counters for tuning chainsaws from a place called baileys online in the USA, I have one and it works great on saws and my GSXR. They even remember max rev reached etc.
